Barber recommendation? I'm looking for a good barbershop of the old-fashioned variety. Just want to get a simple men's haircut from a barber that knows what they are...

Renegade Barber Company or Tim’s Trims.

My BF just went to Analog Barbershop as was recommended on this sub in the past and I gotta say it was very meh. Cramped and VERY loud music (which in such a small space is not pleasant.) The lady who cut my bfs hair scratched his forehead so hard he bled. He said she was curt and very rough. It was 25 bucks for a very basic haircut (short all over) and they don’t take card. Pluses, it was a very fast haircut and their location is ok. Otherwise I’d look elsewhere. Definitely not letting them touch my own hair, no way no how.
Alozar_Lorandul replied:
I go to Analog Barbershop, love it. I only see Steven there, though. I can't speak for any of the others who work there. They do play music at a decent volume, usually a lot of different stuff ranging from grunge to modern electronic... so if you're not in to that, just a heads up. Usually not too loud though.

Noah at Anderson's Barbershop on 7 th and Willamette. Across the street from Doc's Pad. Won't let anyone else touch my hair.

American Traditional.
halexmorph replied:
The shop itself isn't necessarily "old-fashioned", but Demarcos Wright is a really straightforward guy and an excellent barber (which I feel like qualifies as "old-fashioned" these days). I know he takes walk-ins for two days of the week, the rest is appointment only. Bit of a hike to get to Creswell but totally worth it. $15 is pretty close you'll find to a minimum around here. They usually do appointments in increments of time so it has to be worth it to them as well.

I go to the beauty school in Springfield when I’m feeling cheap. It’s $6 for a wash and cut. It’s called NW College of Beauty and it’s on Gateway Loop.
I need a haircut any good places out there in the EUG (guy)

I’m going to second Analog Barbershop and specifically recommend asking for Ivan on the sign in sheet, he’s fantastic.
yaypeepeeshome replied:
Analog or Mo's Faded are solid choices. Been to 808 Hair Studio and the guy did an amazing job he just didn't give me the cut I actually wanted which was dissapointing, but if you're very clear they have serious skills there.

American Traditional in downtown Eugene. Top notch. Just check some of their reviews. Just make sure to call ahead and make an appointment, or download Booksy.

There's a great place called The Search Bar(ber). Highly recommended and no tipping necessary.
StitchTheTurnip replied:
I can't give you many good reviews about getting my hair cut in Eugene. I've been all over the place too. What I can say for sure is that you shouldn't trust a barber shop for its rep. The skills of the individual barbers, even at the high end places around town, seem to vary pretty wildly. So find a guy or girl that you like and stick with them. Definitely avoid the chains. There are plenty of local businesses to chose from and getting a basic mens cut runs about the same all over town. EDIT: I guess I could give one suggestion. If you want your hair cut in under 5 minutes by an old military barber for a good price, Mike's on Harlow.

Tim’s Trims. I used to go to analog, but you get a different barber every time because they don’t take appointments. And there’s a couple there that just do a bad job. Tim’s barbers (and Tim himself) are all great, and you can make an appointment so you don’t have to wait around. They also give you beer. :) I would absolutely recommend Tim’s Trims
MarloPupfield replied:
I can vouch for either Torin or Zach at The Craftsmen Barbershop. There's a third barber now but don't have personal experience with him. They're both super cool guys. Bonus for making an appointment online [here](https://thecraftsmen.setmore.com/). Cash only fyi.
