Who are the best custom home builders in Evergreen/Golden/Conifer?
Jason P. replied:
In order; John Orlando, Mark Jermano, Adam Lozowick. Not kidding. The 3 best Evergreen has to offer. The first goes by John Orlando construction. The second goes by millennium custom homes and the 3 rd is Aspen Leaf Custom homes. I do the logging/Fire Mitigation for almost all the builders up here and these guys are creme of the crop. There are other good ones but you asked for THE BEST........

We've been researching the same decision and after land shopping, talking to builders, evaluating costs we've come to the conclusion it makes more sense to buy a home that needs remodeling and work from there. (We were shopping in Evergreen area, however). Just our humble opinion and no comment on some of the fine builders in the area we talked to (special thanks to Gray Eagle Builders in Conifer).

If you're looking for 5-10 gently sloping acres with views you'll likely be in the $150,000+ price range just for the land. Then you'll likely have approx. $50,000 worth of infrastructure costs for well drilling, septic design, fire mitigation, driveway, and utilities. On top of that, potentially you could have to blast to get your foundation or septic in which could escalate those costs. Then figure on about $200/Sq. Ft. as an estimate for the house. It is expensive to build in our area, but if you do your due diligence and research, it can be done. I had a fixed price contract with my builder, but I had everything down to what model bathroom sinks and light switches I wanted ahead of time. The only thing I had an allowance for was carpeting and tile. Feel free to call or email me.
