Pareve means neither dairy nor meat: most kosher bakeries are dairy\-free because it means their stuff can be eaten at any meal. Your caterer isn't up for making what you're looking for? I think it was spelled Leusdens and yes we went there. I loved international Bakery on Goffle Rd in Hawthorne. Great Rye bread and cakes, we always had Birthday cakes made there.,. I wish there were more bakeries like this but they seem to have disappeared.

I loved Leusdens Bakery. I would buy a seeded rye bread sliced and would eat the tops and bottoms as I walked home with whatever was left of the loaf! Yummy baked goods.
