It's. A. Scam. Call around, the first question they ALL ask is " What are you currently paying?". If you tell them I'd like a quote first, the numbers vary by hundreds EVERYWHERE. Stand your ground. We asked Allstate if we could get better rates after 30 years with them and no claims. They said nope, sorry until MIRACULOUSLY on THEE day I was changing to Dick Randolph they suddenly found they could match Dicks rates. It's. A. Scam. Ask anyone who's been in the biz. Do your homework, save big.

It doesnt matter who your carrier is, when it comes to a claim, its a different story altogether. State Farm will hire "professionals" that will testify on THEIR behalf. I know from experince. DO not go with State Farm!!

Katie, you need to do your research. My understanding of renter's insurance is that it specifically covers your belongings. Two places you need to research is the AK Tenant & Landlord Act (I have provided you the link) and renter's insurance laws (try Google). Many times insurance companies will tell you they don't cover something because they don't want to pay. It is your responsibility to get the facts and find out the truth. Maybe you are covered, maybe you aren't. Read through the fine print in your renter's insurance paperwork. This sounds like a mess, so I sure hope you are able to figure this out soon. Good luck! http://www.law.alaska.gov/department/civil/consumer/3403010.html
State Farm takes days to get back to you. I had already searched and bought insurance through a different company by the time they called me back

Geicos "Fix It" shop sucks. They offer lifetime warrenty but after the 3 rd or 4 th time having to bring it it to redo their repair your better off paying professionals to fix their job.

Bang for your buck, local State Farm. I switched to USAA and I'm now paying $120 more a month. Going back to State Farm
Misty D. replied:
Depends on your needs. I go with progressive as they will insure our three vehicles without my name being on all three (unlike Allstate) will insure SR22 (unlike State Farm or Geico) and covers my dog if he is in the vehicle. I have me and two other drivers and each of our trucks on one policy and it's cheaper and we take turns paying. And I love my reps.:-)

Tatiana Turcan rates are great, customer service is excellent, when I got in an accident I had an adjuster look at my vehicle within a day or 2 and write me a check right there.
can anyone in Fairbanks recommend a State Farm insurance agent that is not Dick Randolph. Go!

Jim Bradburry was my agent, but he just retired. I don't know who is taking over his office, but I have been happy there. It was the first place I walked into when I came to town.

Safeco dumped me on my homeowners for no reason other than having some stuff outside of my shed, rather than in it, and I had never filed a claim with them. I wasn't given the opportunity to fix the situation, either, so I dropped my auto insurance with them and went to State Farm.
