I’ve seen a lot of work from different artists in Fairbanks, and Mikey Ard is the best I’ve seen. I had to move because of being in the military, and would fly all the way back to Fairbanks to have him do my next piece. Lots of rad artists out there, but you should check him out at www.revmikey.com
Angel S. replied:
Definitely go around and check out everyone but personally I love Scotty Gyatso style of work.

Here's my challenge to anyone looking for an artist in Fairbanks… I say go to each shop! Look at their tattoo work in their portfolio, ask how long certain pieces took to complete, ask the artist how long they have been tattooing, how much for example a certain tattoo costs, did it take "sessions" or was in completed in a proper amount of time, did it heal correctly or was the skin over worked, did it scab? Ask around more than on facebook... listen to word of mouth (That is an artists best advertising). When you enter these shops use all your spidey senses and feel out the environment of the shop, their professionalism, attitudes, cleanliness, work ethic.......... did you feel welcome, did it feel like a tattoo shop. When your done with all that come down and see us at Liberty Tattoo and see why so many people plug our studio and Fairbanks best artists. We have artists to choose from from.....all various styles...... we can also complete relatively large size tattoos in a matter of hours instead of "sessions" saving you that costly expense of multiple sessions or "juicing the clock." Liberty Tattoo artists have over 15 years experience each and when it comes to tattooing in Fairbanks we are the adults in the room. We pride ourselves in our quality of work and our confidence. We will always put you with the right Artist, and guide you in a direction so that your tattoo will last a lifetime. Good luck on your hunt for an artist and when your done with your hunt we will see you at Liberty Tattoo.

Might be overly hopeful, but is there any shop or artist in town who can do tattoos similar to this? Sort of a watercolor style, I guess.
