Can someone recommend a phenomenal general dentist anywhere between Alexandria and Sterling? Literally anywhere in between. The dentist I've been using ....I'm done. Any...

Doctor ngo at smiles 4 fairfax! He has an interesting inflection in the way he speaks, but he’s very nice.

[Mark Tummarello](http://dentist-in-fairfax.com/) at Family Dentistry, without reservation. If he can deal with me, my wife, and my daughter, you should be golden. He's right at the intersection of 50 and 66.

Fox Family Dental in Burke. They are good and conservative when recommending dental work. Highly recommended.

Great Falls and Reston Family Dentistry. Massage chairs and TVs.

[McLean Dental Care](http://www.mcleandentalcare.com/) A month after I started a new job I was waiting for my dental insurance to kick in. Suddenly a wisdom tooth broke and I was in extreme pain. They were able to get me in within a few days. I explained my situation and that I was couldn't afford anything huge, but just needed a referral to an oral surgeon for the tooth removal. Dr. Cappiello was able to do just a small single tooth x-ray, wrote me an oral surgeon recommendation, and then gave me an antibiotic prescription to be filled in case I needed it while waiting for my tooth removal. As someone who is terrified of the dentist, he honestly gave me the best care I've received in years, and was so kind and understanding. Couldn't recommend him enough. (His staff was also SUPER pleasant and friendly).

It's in Arlington, but I really like Virginia Dental Center and their sister office with Dr. Dudley. Unfortunately, Dr. Dudley doesn't take my insurance anymore:( otherwise I'd still be going to him. Best dentist I've ever had, but VA Dental Center is also great.

I LOVE Dr. Yolanda Weaver at Fairfax dental center (http://fairfaxdentalcenter.com). She’s gentle, funny, super smart—great with kids as well as adults. She will put you at ease and help you get where you need to be with your dental health. Her staff is also really good.

[Dr. Raymund Favis in Fairfax](http://favisdental.com/). Hands down the greatest Dentist I've ever been to. Friendly, personable, never tries to upsell you on things you don't need/want, and (most importantly) *fantastic* at his job. The same is true of his staff too. Plus the office itself is the least dentist-looking dentist's office I've been to; there's comfy modern chairs, equipment which doesn't look like it's leftover 1963, and even a nice view from the windows.

http://www.bolducdental.com I was in here for a filling. Waited 3 maybe 4 mins in the lobby. The filling took maybe little less than 10 mins to do. Amazing place, modern. Staff is knowledgeable, polite, and professional.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Dr. Stephen St Louis. He's in the same building as the Pender Animal Hospital, right at the 50/West Ox intersection. He did *a lot* of work on me in the last year and I've had zero complaints. https://local.demandforce.com/b/drstlouis

Dr Hye Park at Green Dental, near King St Metro. I have serious dental anxiety and she's always made me feel at ease. A previous dentist screwed one of my teeth up royally, which she corrected easily. And her office staff fought an insurance company denial that ended up saving me ~$1200.

Dr. Whittington in Vienna. Went to him after getting a referral from a retired dentist. I used to have a crappy dentist myself. Whittington is a lifesaver now.

Dr. Pal in Reston is really good. http://www.palfamilydentistry.com/ Been going to her for several years. Staff is pleasant and accommodating.

Don't know if you're still looking, but we've gone to see Dr. Lu at www.springfieldfamilydentist.com for years, who has been great for us. She has Saturday appointments too.

Dr. Amanda Yi in Fairfax right on 29. She’s so gentle, effective and efficient. Been going to her most of my life! She’s wonderful.

Who didn't you like? I just saw a RIDICULOUSLY overpriced dentist in virginia square (va sq dental) who I think is being totally shiesty about insurance charges and the like, but I'm so busy I haven't been able to follow up on anything...
banana-stand45 replied:
Dr. Karr at Sunrise Valley Dental in Herndon is also amazing:) I'm terrified of needles and she adapted for me. She's very honest and a straight shooter. She doesn't push for you to get anything specific done and will explain the what and how of everything that's happening. I broke my front teeth in an accident 3 days before Christmas last year. It was the last day she was open before the holiday and she was booked, but she worked over lunch to help me get fillings in immediately. When the novocane wasn't working because I was so worked up, she sat with me and told me about her day. It helped me calm down. She's been wonderful for me and my teeth look fantastic!
engineered_academic replied:
Dr Gruntz DDS in the Crystal City mall. Go to Rick the younger. I fucking hated dentists for many years. I moved away but still travel there because the dentist experience is too awesome to give up. I have tried other dentists and nobody is as good as him. They give me enough novocaine to slap the side of my face and I could feel nothing, and switched to a different type when I could still feel the root canal so that I felt nothing.

Dr Park in Fairfax City. They do a very good job and accept a ton of insurances. They’ve always taken care of me fwiw.

Annandale Smiles on Ravensworth Road. They are absolutely perfect. I recently had two wisdom teeth pulled and three fillings done. It was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had at a dentist!! Good luck to you.:)
Can anyone recommend a good dentist? My current dentist has lost my trust and I need a new one, preferably in the springfield area. Thank you!

Alexandria Total Dentistry. It's in a condo building. Family owned practice. The 2 sons work here. The dad came from National Harbor to do a procedure on me though. The older son is very funny and personable. The younger son I didn't see that often. I appreciated how my dentist explained everything to me and waited til I was pre-approved from my insurance before starting a procedure.

Dr. Raymund Favis at [Favis Dental](http://favisdental.com/). He is by far and away the best dentist I've ever been to. A fantastic mix of highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable and personable, with a great facility and staff, not to mention just a nice honest guy. Never does unnecessary work. Talks through all your options, and lets you know what he recommends and why, but leaves you with the ultimate choice in a no pressure environment.

Not sure if you're still looking by Dr. Nhien Lu has been our family dentist in Springfield for over 10 years, and she's been wonderful. Can't speak to what specific insurance but she takes ours, Delta Dental, and is open Saturdays. www.springfieldfamilydentist.com

AKADriver replied:
I go to Dental Care of Springfield on Backlick. No real selection process went into it, I think I had coupons or they were just the closest dentist that took my insurance. They're obviously kind of "retail" and like to upsell oral cancer screenings that my insurance doesn't cover but I just decline it. Dr. Gejji and her hygienists are great though.
begentlewithme replied:
I go to Tyson's Dentistry, right across the street from Walmart. I went because it had the highest Google ratings of dentists in the area (4.9) and I have to say that my personal experience with them has been quite pleasant. Probably out of your way but hey it's an option to consider at least.
jrib replied:
http://www.sonrisasandsmiles.com/ Right in Springfield. He explains everything in detail and everyone that works there is extremely nice. Definitely the best dentist experience I've had in the area

I had a really great experience at McLean Dental Care. I've never met such friendly/easy going health related professionals in quite a few years. They made everything as pain free as possible, and that was pretty difficult seeing as I was working with a tooth broken down to the nerve. They helped me get my x-rays, a prescription for an antibiotic just in case, and a referral to a *great* oral surgeon.
