Therapist/Psychologist recommendations? Does anyone have recommendations for a therapist, psychologist or anything of the like in Fargo-Moorhead? I'm mostly struggling...

If you are a college student, I would go the campus route for services if you can. If your family insurance is Sanford as the SelectChoice, I would suggest scheduling a checkup with a general practitioner with Sanford as soon as you can for an appt. When you get to your appointment, they will have you fill out a general form on your health. Check the stress/anxiety boxes and then make that the focus of your discussion with the Doctor. Sanford therapy is only scheduling new patients with a referral right now, so this would be your most direct path to an appt with them if it needs to be Sanford. But if you are having suicidal thoughts, I would encourage you to talk to your parents (or most trusted parent) and ask them to take you over to Prairie right now. They know what to do and they will make your immediate needs priority 1. They won't lock you up, they will work on getting you help immediately. Getting an initial appointment can take weeks through "normal" channels, so if you don't think you can wait that long, please consider Prairie as an option to start getting help now.

Be very careful here. I ended up with a therapist whose husband was my psychiatrist. Ended up on a lot of drugs that I had no business taking and ruining my late teens/early 20's. PM if you want more details.

I don't know if you are a student there or not, but if you go to NDSU at all, you should go to the NDSU Counseling Center! My friend went to the Counseling Center this spring and it helped him out greatly! It's free of charge I believe as well, so try calling them and setting up an appointment.

I go to [Benson Psychological Services](http://bensonpsychologicalservices.com/) I only see a therapist there, no drugs from her. But, I really like it.. she works very hard to work around my work schedule and my busy life and she brings very great things to every therapy session I have with her. I'm still on the fence about going to a psychiatrist because they do like to push drugs a lot, so I've been going to my PCP for my anxiety medications which I kind of feel isn't much better than a psychiatrist. But yes.. the place I go is worth checking out. I know for a fact they take BCBS of ND.
