Gym Recommendations My wife and I are looking for a gym to join in town. Technically we live on the other side of the river so sorry if this isn't allowed here but are...

Courts Plus is the only place in town that has a couples plan inbetween a single and family. So it ends up being cheaper than a family plan at the YMCA. Personal trainer, babysitting, tanning, hot tub, etc

I guess what are you looking for in a gym? Do you just want an simple place to work out (treadmill, elliptical , weights) or do you want a gym that has basketball courts, racquetball/tennis , pool, and group classes?

Have you tried the Wellness Center at MSUM? Awesome gym and staff/trainers! https://www.mnstate.edu/wellness/memberships.aspx

I'm a big fan of the YMCA Schlossman, for weights and cardio. If you want something a little more corporate, there's anytime fitness and courts plus. I have used the planet fitnesses and anytimes, but I always end up going back to the Y.

It might be a bit far if you live in Moorhead, but I love the family wellness. It can get a bit crowded at times but I heard they are opening a new location soon so hopefully that helps. It's the nicest gym in town that I have been in.

Planet Fitness is the cheapest I've seen ($20/month for a Black Card membership that allows you to bring a guest) and has a Moorhead location. The facilities are clean, the equipment is kept in good repair, and they have WiFi for Netflix/Hulu. A great no-frills gym.

Metroflex also offers partner rates. It's more of a hardcore gym though. I was torn between courts plus and metro flex when I moved here last year around this time. Courts plus seemed to offer more of what I was looking for - Sauna, whirlpool, steam room, with lots of floor space. I'd recommend just going with a gym that is near your home or along the route to and from work.
