My husband and I will be visiting your beautiful island in August for a few nights. We would love to stay in a CLEAN, updated, beautiful, romantic, upscale hotel or B&B...

Amelia Hotel at the Beach!! I just stayed four nights there in July and loved every minute of it! There's nothing like staying on the beach!!
Kathryn S. replied:
I've stayed at the Omni resort twice and I've used VRBO / Airbnb twice. I prefer VRBO. It's usually cheaper and you can rent a fully equipped large direct ocean condo / house for less per night than the resort.
Sheri O. replied:
Elizabeth Pointe Lodge or Seaside Amelia
Cynthia R. replied:
Elizabeth Pointe

Liz B. replied:
For hotels, Omni is expensive but really very nice. I would also check VRBO for ocean view rentals at Turtle Dunes (part of the Amelia Island Plantation) or Surf & Racquet. Both have great beach access.

Call Amelia Vacation Rentals and check out the condos at Oceans Place. Many are high end and the rates are half the price of the Ritz next door. Can't beat having a washer dryer and full kitchen on vacation.
Dana G. replied:
Thank you all so very much! Going to make reservations at Elizabeth Lodge right now!
Amy P. replied:
Please stop by The Patio Place for a romantic meal or just a glass of wine on our patio couches.
Charlie D. replied:
I would have at least one meal at Salty Pelican
Catherine W. replied:
Elizabeth Pointe but Omni would be closer for horseback riding/kayak and such.
Looking for a good B&B in St Augustine...any recommendations?
Theresa H. replied:
The St. Francis Inn. Any property that's a Select Registry property will be a good one. It's a very high standards organization that's hard to qualify for. www.selectregistry.com.
I am seeking reliable housekeepers for a 14-room luxury B&B in downtown Fernandina. If you are interested or know of anyone who is, please contact me. Pay is above...
