George Steinbrenner spent some summers in Itta Bena as a teenager. He and Harris Magruder of Itta Bena were classmates at a prep school somewhere up north. They were friends, and he would come home with Harris. I asked my Dad if he remembered that, and he said- "Sure. We all used to hang out, play baseball, etc. He was a nice enough kid for a Yankee....":-)
