I thought I had sciatica, but then my foot went numb and it started climbing up my shin. Turns out I had severe foot drop and not even the epidural worked for me. It was affecting my nerve and I needed emergency surgery. Please don’t take any chances if you start to experience any numbness! I went to Dr Grigory Goldberg in Freehold. He avoids surgery unless absolutely necessary. I did my rehab at Ivy on Lacey road and they were amazing. Good luck! I know that pain is so miserable.

I go to Dr. Coccaro at precision pain management just off the parkway by NJ transit bus depot. He has helped greatly with my back but first thing you should get is an MRI then you'll know if you have any of the disc issues

If not a doctor by the name of Dr. Vaccaro of the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. He’s also great. Either one is really good. Good luck.

John, try using a tennis ball. stand against a wall, use your glutes to move the ball around thus massaging your glutes. Tennis balls are great for this type of massage - you control the pressure, the "give" in the tennis ball is just right. You look really silly doing this but it works! You can also use this technique for your upper back between the shoulder blades. A Licensed Massage Therapist told me about this trick. Try it! If you'd like more information, contact me.
