Barnegat Animal Clinic......took my animals to Dr. Stephen Wurst...Dr. Andy Wurst father over 30 years ago...Love them and all their vets...I take my 4 feline rescues, my daughter takes her 4 feline rescues & 3 dogs, & my son takes his 3 feline rescues...& yes my children live in their own homes..lol....Love BAC!

We've seen a few of them there--all good. Dr Wurst was the chief surgeon of the medical team for Roscoe's 4 hour ( and very serious ) operation. The Kid was only six months old. He's an amazing kitty.

Speaking strictly on cost, FRAH has the best basic pricing. I have had accounts at literally every vet in ocean county, and some in Monmouth. (Because of my former business) Knowledge is another factor. Many of the local (to Lacey) vets are all just as knowledgeable as the next one. Availability is one more factor, larger practices may have more appointments. But you may not get the same vet each time. Emergency services, ask who will get you in or who will send you to Red Bank. (Personal experience Dr Force answers his messages himself, even 3am Sunday morning). Lanoka Oaks And Dr Taylor (My Very Own Vet) both do house calls. Figure out what's important besides cost and ask to come meet the ones you narrow it down to. Interview them.

Dr. Force, we have 3 large logs & they are very reasonably priced & will always fit you in, in case of emergencies.

I take my fur babies to Dr. Wymann at Lanoka Oaks. You can pay 1 price for shots for life & just pay for the office visit. Not sure how their prices are compared to other places in the area, but less expensive then the vets north of us. Good luck!

I cannot recommend Dr Force after multiple issues with him with misdiagnosis and other things. I recommend Dr Tony at Berkeley Vet, he costs more but you get what you pay for

I disagree about Dr Force, that was definitely not my experience with him. He misdiagnosed a cats broken jaw, argued with me over a neuro disorder in my GSD that I did know more about and she'd been tested for, horrible neuter incisions on my dachshunds and kept pushing me to put down a dog with cancer simple due to my having a question, that was it and we moved to Berkeley. Dr Linda and Dr Tony were glad to take him on at Berkeley Vet and he lived very comfortably for 2 more months. I'm not a nut, but a very knowledgeable dog fancier. Saving money is great but not at the expense of treatment. Notice how many of his patients reference price with him...

OMG! Dr. Force at Forked River Animal Hospital wanted to put down my 11 year old dog "thinking" she has a brain tumor and said the medical test at other more expensive places were a waste of time. Yea... No.... I brought her up to Tinton Falls... did not even NEED any special testing and the neurologist there said it wasn't a brain tumor, she had "sun downing" and seizures in her older age... She gave her meds and blessed us and her another 2 years of a normal life. Eventually the seizures took over and we lost her. But that was nearly 2 years later... he has a vendetta about those specialized hospitals (which he has expressed in the passed because he used to work there) and I guess it didn't work out. I gained great years by not listening it to him!

Never Forked River Animal Hospital. Not only did he want to put my dog to sleep for what he said was a brain tumor (took her to Tinton Falls and she lived another 2 years, not a tumor). He was condescending, rude and just had plain horrible bedside manners to owners. He claims that how he treats animals is the “cheap” way and tells you the “truth” to save you money rather than going to a more advanced place. Turns out he used to work at those expensive places and no longer does because of that.. so he will never refer you to a more qualified specialist or doctor because he wasn’t qualified enough to meet their standards

I used to bring my dog to bayville. Dr McDowell. Reasonable. Just got a new rescue and took her to Lanoka oaks... crazy expensive!

I would recommend Barnegat Animal clinic, Dr Stashek or Dr Wurst, but I don't think it is the price range you are looking for. I know someone who goes to whiting cause they say it is little less expensive but don't know where. Maybe popcorn park zoo

I'm so sorry to hear your dog is ill, I just wanted to share how amazing The team at red bank animal hospital is, they saved my dogs life, more than once. I know the financial strain is so hard but you are in excellent hands. Lanoka Oaks was terrible, they mis diagnosed my dog & he would have died if we listened to them, thank God we trusted our gut & went up to Red Bank, be very careful if you choose to see them

Stay away from banfield in Petsmart in Manahawkin and Lanoka Oaks, both made me contiuously bring my dog in so they could charge me for an office visit when I needed a refill for my dogs medication for a CHRONIC ear infection. Dr Force is the best around! Real compassion for his patients, not just money hungry.

Barnegat Animal Clinic. They are so amazing there. Fixed a friends kitten who needed his jaw wired shut cause he fell and broke his jaw. Did it all for free and even gave us the food and syringes to feed him. They were really sweet.

Barneget Animal Clinic!! I have been to another large, popular animal clinic in Toms River who I felt were always pushing unnecessary tests, bloodwork etc. Almost seemed like they were looking for something to be wrong so they could treat it and make you pay triple for it. Barnegat Animal clinic is the complete opposite. The treat if needed, explain things, dont push anything on you or make you feel like a bad pet owner. They are fair and very reasonably priced. Plus the staff is incredible; they welcome and treat each animal as their own!!

I also recommend the Barnegat Animal Clinic. Have been taking my cats there since 2008 (along with recommending them to everyone I know). I am very happy with their care.

Again.. dr Carroll from barnegat animal clinic . My cat had a heart murmur so we had to delay his neuter. Dr Carroll explained to me everything that concerns them when they operate on small animals with murmurs. He also had to take X-rays once and he took me into the back and personally showed me the X-rays and explained everything I was looking at. Did I mention he truly loves the animals?? Our German shepherd hates the doc but dr Carroll loooves him and deals with his big muzzled ass with love and kindness. He also has chronic ear problems and dr Carroll is always wonderful when we bring him in and doesn't kill us with $$

Red bank veterinary hospital is top notch! They saved my dog from dying the evening before Easter Sunday and we have never gone anywhere since. Worth the drive and they have everything you could possibly need within the hospital!

They say canned 100% pure pumpkin helps. I never did it but recently read it. Priority vet on rt 37 great but opens at 6 pm Jersey shore vet on rt 70 also great. I've used both Good luck Hope your furry friend is ok Red bank hospital very $$$

Your dog may just have a virus, but I have to comment... Question, have you used a Swiffer Jet recently? My dog became violently ill after we used it. We took him to the vet & they told us it was just a virus, that it would pass. It did, until we used the Swiffer again. He ended up having diarrhea mixed with blood all over the house. We put two and two together and stopped using the product. He was fine a day or two after wards, and ever since. It could be a coincidence but didn't want to take a chance. Thank you to everyone for their recommendations. I brought my dog to Ocean County in Lakewood this morning. Most likely intestinal. He’s on digestive food and medicine for a few days. Everything looks pretty good going forward. I was very happy with the vet and their service. I left a message@6:30 am and they called me right at 8 am when they opened. Thx again, Judy Hartman for the initial referral.

We found OC vet on river road a few months ago. Like them a lot. Great hours and we had to go on a Sunday and it only cost us 15$ more than a weekday visit. Used a different place before and it was like 50$ extra on a Sunday

We use Jersey Shore Veterinary Emergency when we need an off hours vet. The doctor there is wonderful, but you pay emergency prices. They are only open on nights and weekends. If you wait until tomorrow, Dr Bodman has been amazing with our dog since we switched in January.

I called Forked River Animal and they want $325.00 which is insane.
