ISO: clipper blade sharpening. Wondering where people take their clipper blades to be sharpened or if anyone does it themselves & would be willing to do mine.

I'm looking for reviews on a few Pediatricians in the area. I'm limited due to my insurance, but has anyone had any luck with any of these Doctors? Matthew Barb, Duane...

I work with both Dr. Barb and Dr. O'brien at the hospital (saw them both today, actually) and have known them both for about 6 years. I'm not familiar with the other the docs. Any specific questions regarding those two docs?
Candice C. replied:
I love and trust them both. Both are fairly laid back and have excellent bedside manner. Dr Barb is technically a family practice MD and he is also occasionally the house hospitalist for us at North. (Which in and of itself isn't an issue, but I think it does tend to make him be a bit more on edge even with only slight abnormals in a baby.) Dr. Barb's bedside manner is great, but he has a very prominent speech impediment and I have a hard time understanding him. He's got 4 young kids of his own (I've actually taken care of his wife, Dr Chung the OB, in postpartum) so his pediatric knowledge is recent and he appears to be fairly flexible with parents' wishes. Dr O'Brien is even more laid back and is specifically a pedi. He is who my kids are signed up with as far as insurance (my kids are on my Parkview insurance), but his flexibility and knowledge truly surpass most any other pedi I work with. We have yet to see him in the office (heh- my kids have not seen a pedi in over 5 years), but when I spoke with him, he is fine with me calling the shots on vax (*if* we decide to do them). That may be just because I work with him, but I've never seen him get angry (which is more than I can say for many other local peds) and I am always impressed with his patience and sweet, good natured bedside manner. His partner (should you ever have to see her for some reason), Dr Bergeron is also exceptionally sweet and flexible. I've never been anything but impressed with their pediatric group, but this is from a postpartum/ mother baby unit standpoint so I'm not sure what the flow of their offices is like. Hope that helps! Both those docs are excellent options!:)

I love Dr. O'Brien. At 6 months he did mention that I could start giving rice cereal (we skipped cereal) but he wasn't at all pushy about it. He's very laid back and is great with the kids.

Another thumbs up for Dr. O'Brien. Very down-to-earth and the girls really like him!
