Felicia F. replied:
I prefer Dr. Wilkin as well. He has taken care of all my animals and treated them (and me) very well. I don't much care for the Vet by Marsh Supermarket on Van Wert- Decatur Rd. because when I got my Doberman Pinscher, he didn't want anything to do wit h him. He refused me and my Dobe simply because he was a Dobe... I'm sorry, but if you are a Vet and you won't deal with animals cause you are afraid of them or because of their breed, then that probably isn't a smart career move on your part.
Amber F. replied:
https://www.facebook.com/Felicia.Kay.Fisher is this before or after dr klemen died... never heard anything bad of him but the ppl that are there now never hear anything good of them!
Felicia F. replied:
It was Dr. Klemen. My aunt takes her Min Schnuser (sp?) there and she told me that he was afraid of big dogs? That is what I heard from her. But I got my Dobe from a guy about five years ago, I wanted to take him to Dr. Klemen to get him his shots and make sure he was healthy and all that fun stuff. I called there and talked to Dr. Klemen himself and he told me he wouldn't allow me to bring my dog to his office. "He doesn't deal with that kind of breed." I was very unhappy that he wouldn't allow me to bring a 7 week puppy into his office to make sure he was healthy and to give him his shots. So, I called Dr. Wilkin and he was more than happy to see my Dobe and every other pet I've had.
Felicia F. replied:
Yeah, I don't hear too many bad things about him, but I myself won't ever deal with that office. I just had a bad experience with them and am not interested in trying out the new people who work there. Dr. Wilkin spayed my Rottador, micro-chipped my Do be, and helped a Great Dane I had with an infection. He and his staff were very nice, they spoiled my dogs with treats and love when they were there and have always been ready and willing to help me when I wasn't financially able to take my dogs to the Vet, but they've needed it. I've never had an issue with them. That is just my two cents.:)

Jeanann S. replied:
(260) 489-7378 is the number. Just go take a tour
Kelly M. replied:
Call Perfect Pet Food and Accessories and ask for Alicia Sexton. She's the best groomer I've ever met. All of her current clients LOVE her and so do the animals. She grooms cat and dogs. Better call now though because she is alway busy over the holidays. The number there is 483-0944. She always bends over backwards to make her clients happy and she would NEVER send a dog out the door that she wasn't happy with how it looked.

Dr. McKinsey at Decatur vet didn't flame me out when I took my dog Skye for his three year rabies shot a week ago Fri and I decided to be honest that he hasn't had any other vaccines. She didn't agree with my choice, but listened to me. She also listened to my concerns about heartworm preventive, once again no flaming and did not pressure me and let that be my choice. Her office manager made a snide remark about the vet's office only getting to see Skye when he gets his three year rabies (which I do because it's the law) but the rest of the staff were very nice. Friday I returned to Decatur Vet with my aunt to be with her when she had her dog put to sleep and Dr. McKinsey and the receptionist (snide office manager was not there) were SO compassionate and caring from beginning to end. So sorry about your kitty, Mary Marino-Strong:(

East State Vet Clinic. Very good, reasonably priced. My mom used to work there, we've taken out animals there for decades, and I know multiple other people that go there and recommend them as well.
holysweetbabyjesus replied:
Stellhorn Vet with Dr. Couch. She bought it out pretty recently though I've been going there for 17 years. Cheap, everyone is wonderful. My weird species cat has been treated insanely well despite her odd issues, and everything has been great. I brought them a 20+ year old cat and she kept her happy and healthy for many years. Good with my new dog too.

Aboite Animal Hospital has been fantastic for us over the years.
diamondkitkat replied:
New Haven Pet Hospital. Brought our senior cat there on a whim when East State couldn't get us in at all for urgent care. Everyone is extremely friendly and answered all our questions. In my opinion they do very thorough work and thought of everything possible when caring for our cat. Looking at their website it looks like they do Care Credit which would allow you to make payments. We previously took all our animals to East State but they weren't overly friendly and didn't go out of their way to explain our pet's ailments and necessary treatment.

My wife loves St Joe Vet for her cat.
BearyPotter replied:
I liked the people at Allen Veterinary Hospital. My dog had a stroke and they were very helpful and accommodating the same day. They couldn't figure it out the first time (stroke diagnosis came a little later, we thought it might be a spinal injury). They didn't charge me for the visit, and even gave me some samples of a mild sedative to help keep him calm while we figured out what was wrong. I do *not* recommend Corner Vet Clinic. They don't listen very well (gave my dog cheese as a treat even after I warned them that dairy makes him gassy and asked them not to). They're also very rude and judgmental.
nonpossumus replied:
The Corner Veterinary Clinic and Dr. McKee. We've taken all of our pets to him for more than 20 years, I can't recommend them enough. Seasoned, knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, just a real nice DVM who gets it.. 1063 Tennessee Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805
So I am considering looking for a new Veterinarian for the animals. We have been clients of The Woodburn Veterinarian Clinic since Pat and I got our first pet together...

Huge fan of Dr Sackash ([veterinary services](http://fwvetservices.com/)) on gump road. They're a bit far NW, but her office is great. When she gave our cat a new rabies vaccine and he had an active reaction to it (sudden cancerous growth at injection site), she did the surgery, his followups, and his next regular checkup for free.
We've got four cats, and they've helped us with many problems, from food allergies and one cat clawing his face bloody raw, to your standard bite infections, and even to helping us find a cat-caretaker for feeding, scooping, and petting while we're traveling for extended periods.
It's been a while since we shopped around and found her, so I can't speak as to the current competitiveness of pricing, but when we did switch to her several years ago, she had the second-lowest prices for a basic appointment on our list.

Wayndale animal clinic. Best and cheapest I have found. Drive from out west to go there.

Look at West Side Animal Hospital. I really think their prices are not that bad. My cat usually sees Dr. Abigail Trapp, who actually takes the time to talk to you and explain in detail what they are doing, and what the problem is.

Woodburn vet seems to have great prices. I'm not sure how considering it's a small town vet office.
Please post your puppy vet recommendations! I need AKC for at least the first exam. I suppose after that it doesn't matter but it might be nice to stick to the same.

I have been to many vets (due to living in different cities) My favorite vet office is St Joe Vet on St. Joe and maplecrest. They are great. They are not over priced in my opinion. They may not be the cheapest. But they are great! They know their stuff! They explain what's going on and why. They give you options. They let you decide what you can or are willing to pay for. They are more than happy to answer your questions. You work hard for your money.... So it's important! And you love your dog, so it's super important! Good luck!
Ashley S. replied:
We go to Waynedale Vet Clinic. They are super sweet with Magsters. She is so skittish with other dogs and she had to go every other day for 3 weeks once for a laser treatment n it was really cheap! Dr Riebe is his name and he is younger than me.....and went to Homestead even. They are amazing there. It's right off of Bluffton Rd. Easy to find. There website is on the Internet too. Open all week late and on Saturdays. Check it out.
There is Premier Vet Services in North Webster, IN, which is holistic. They are hosted once a month by Covington Vet Hospital, on the SW side of Fort Wayne, so you need to make an appointment in advance of their next visit. Here's the link to their website: http://www.premiervetservices.com/?page_id=1117
