Dave Ramsey is the debt hating/ financial radio personality. He runs an "endorsed local provider" program on his website and one of the stipulations for his endorsement is that the advisor must take any sized portfolio. I've never used one but it's a consideration.

The only fee-only financial advisors that I've identified in the area are for people with large portfolios, and their fees are accordingly _really_ high. I love the idea of using one, but I'm not sure that you can find one locally. I've given up, anyway.
