Chimney sweep recommendations? I bought a house a few years ago and haven't desired to get the fireplace going until now. Google shows there are quite a few options...

I use John and he absolutely the most honest, hardworking, nice guy that guarantees his work and will charge you the absolute least he can and still put food on his table.
For example - when we bought our house the chimney was in terrible shape and unusable. I got a quote from 3 other companies first and they all came between 6 - 10k to repair the chimney, and most suggested just to seal it up.
I got John's number from a friend and he came to look at it, said he'd hate to see it sealed up and quoted me around 1200 to get it working safely, and then agreed he'd come to fix up the outside and make it 100% again in the summer.
All in all, I paid him less than 3K to practically rebuild my chimney from scratch. I can't say enough good things about this man and his company.
