So I’ve started preliminary window shopping and I narrowed it down to a few brands that seem good. I haven’t called any of these places yet for estimates because we are waiting until the covid numbers go down.
I’ll comment what I’ve narrowed it down to, and maybe some others can give their opinions if they’ve dealt with these...
Also, this is for vinyl windows
Soft lite are supposed to be nice and zen windows in Franklin gets good reviews for installation. https://zenwindowsnashville.com
This is another soft lite dealer and they also have gotten good reviews. http://tiptophomesolutions.com/our-products/replacement-windows/
Another window brand that’s supposed to be nice is sunrise, but the installer around here seems kind of hit or miss based on reviews.

Okna are supposed to be good and supposedly this dealer gets them, but I haven’t been able to get them on the phone to confirm.

We replaced all our windows with Apex a few years ago and everyone except the cat loves them. Triple paned, they are so well insulated that the sun shining through no longer leaves a warm spot on the floor for her. I have several friends who have gone the Apex route and everyone is very pleased, especially after comparing prices with the big national companies. No, I don’t work for the company.

We have wood / aluminum clad windows from Jeld-Wen, all custom made with low-E glass in our old house. Don't have an installer as ours is currently booked up, but can vouch for the windows. Keep on mind if you go with something like aluminum clad on the outside you'll have less maintenance down the road. Nothing worse than repainting exterior windows every few years. Windows were between $700-$1000 each, excluding install cost.
So we got hit up by an Apex Windows solicitation this afternoon, and since our house has it's original windows I know they definitely need to be replaced. Has anyone...

Apex has a triple pane window system (only comparison is American Home Design) and their price was almost twice what Apex quoted us. I could not be happier with our new window system. They not only put windows in but a window surround (where your rough opening is covered with a synthetic material and encases your new window) which makes this system (in my view) one of the best on the market. I did some shopping around, and Window World have a good double pane window, and they replace all rotten wood, but no surround. We bought the basic window package, which has 2 or 3 colors, but all manufacturers have upcharges on everything you want extra. If you would like to private message me you can come by and see our windows. And the BIG item is, I have turned the thermostat down (or up) 2 degrees
Just had all of our windows replaced today! We used Apex, and I have to say that they did an amazing job!! I am so happy with my new windows! If anyone is looking to...

Candace Begley McAlister, Apex does take care of the wood rot around the windows. It is part of the service. They also put in a vinyl surround before they put the windows back in so you will never have problems with wood rot again. We love, love, love our Apex windows. Their service was indeed amazing and the product is fantastic. Heather Doleshel, there is most definitely a climate change. We have had to keep our thermostat several degrees cooler than we ever have. We can open the curtains when it is freezing outside with no concern that cold air will get in, and even when our heat went on the fritz downstairs for a couple of days when it was really cold, it only dropped two degrees in the house overnight. For anyone concerned about the expense, they offer financing through a credit card with Fifth Third which charges no interest for a year. Their prices are extremely competitive if you compare their product to the same quality product. I believe American Home Design is currently the only retailer I am aware of that carries a window exactly like the Apex window. Hope that helps!.
