More advice.. Can anyone recommend a great pediatrician or family doctor? I don't mind driving outside of Fairview if need be. Thank you. This page has been such a great...

Middle Tennessee Primary Care is great! It is next to Sonic in Fairview.
Tonya A. replied:
Old Harding Pediatrics in Bellevue, Dr Smelter is awesome. It's like 20 minutes from fairview.
Suzy R. replied:
Any doctor at Old Harding Pediatrics. I love the fact that they are open until 8:00 every night and on weekends. My kids usually get sick at these times. You may not get to see your primary since each doctor has one night that they have to work, but I haven't found one that I haven't liked. My two favorites are Dr. Linda Brady (our primary) and Dr. John Long.
Martha F. replied:
Dr. Scott Leiberman off 840 in Thompson Station
Rosemary K. replied:
Internal medicine..dr jenifer bess. St thomas medical 297.2700. Great Dr. Harvard/Vanderbilt
Jennifer G. replied:
Old Harding Peds here too. We see Dr. John Long...awesome guy. But over the years we've seen many of their other Drs when my son was sick, and we haven't found one we didn't like. Can't go wrong with any of them.
Amy M. replied:
Old Harding Pediatrics! They have evening and weekend hours plus the nurses answer questions via the website. Being able to take my kids to the doctor after hours is very important and helps avoid ER visits.
Heather S. replied:
Old Harding! Dr Brady is fabulous!
Maria G. replied:
Old Harding pediatrics in Bellevue. Dr. Betts
Kila C. replied:
We love Heritage Pediatrics in Cool Springs. Dr. Seethaler has seen my kids for 14 yrs.
Brandy D. replied:
Love love love Harpeth Pediatrics in Cool Springs. Both of my children see Dr. Collins, but every dr there is wonderful. They also are open half a day on Saturdays which is a huge convenience.
Robin W. replied:
If you don't mind self pay, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Daniel Kalb with Cool Springs Family Medicine (especially if you are at all slightly crunchy). It broke my heart to leave his practice last year!
Jamie G. replied:
Travis Walters@Green Hills Pediatrics. They are actually in Belle Meade. You see YOUR child's doctor every time your child is well/sick, not others in the group. We love him. Good luck Amy!
Kathy L. replied:
Old Harding Pediatric, Belview. Dr Patton.

Kimberly F. replied:

+1 for Dr. V but definitely, but she definitely have the proximity to home that you are looking for.
Anna P. replied:
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Nila Patel in Eltingville. It's a bit of a drive, but so worth it. She has daily office hours from 1030 a - 5 p. There is zero wait time and most of the time I don't even make an appt. -- just walk in. What I love most is that she is not judgmental and doesn't overreact. We saw a popular pediatrician before that and were often reprimanded for questioning their suggestions.
Sarah P. replied:
I wonder if that is the same Dr. Patel that used to be at Advantage Care Physicians, when it was Staten Island Physicians Practice, on Clove - she left for a South Shore location.
Anna P. replied:
Sarah Power her photo is in Google images (if you recall what she looks like).
Melissa F. replied:
I have been happy with Comprehensive Pediatrics on Targee.
Amy P. replied:
Dr Kelly Eberhardt she is amazing and everyone who meets her loves her Clove road I believe she has admitting in RUMC and Staten island university
Marietta C. replied:
We use Dr. Gabriel, but he is out by the mall. A few friends use Dr. McMahon on Slosson and Rice and are very happy!
Sarah P. replied:
We use Dr. Jack Skowron of the Pediatrics at Advantage Care Physicians on Clove Road - they are affiliated with RUMC if there are any emergencies, they also have a Lab onsite for blood tests, etc, as well as onsite radiology and 24/7 Urgent Care Center. There are a couple of pediatricians there; my daughter wanted a female as she got older: https://www.urgentcarelocations.com/ny/staten-island/6313-advantage-care-physicians

Kristin H. replied:
Mel: My friend sees Dr. Kla and loves her so we considered her however, Cool Springs Family Medicine will stop taking all insurance next month. This was Dr. Kla's post: " I feel compelled to write briefly about the struggle I have been through in the last several years leading me to make this difficult decision. For 8 years my co-workers at CSFM and I have worked hard to provide what I believe Family Medicine is supposed to be: comprehensive, integrative, care for the whole family with an understanding of how the environment affects our health. This type of care requires time, patience, research and dedication which has been our pleasure and privilege to provide. However, to be viable in the traditional system of providing medical care, that is, accepting insurance, 8-10 minutes is the allotted time to see patients, 20 minutes maximum if it is a new patient, and frankly, we just can’t practice that way. Unfortunately, our plan of accepting insurance, so that we can be available to everyone, has not worked. To be honest with you, the insurance companies at this time owe us over $190,000, and individuals, over $65,000 (believe me, we are working hard to try to recoup at least part of this). In the meantime, I have had to increase our debt over this last year, just to keep the doors open. Who to blame? Ourselves? No, I believe we have been excellent stewards. ObamaCare? In my opinion, this has nothing to do with Obamacare. In fact, I remain a supporter of our President’s efforts to improve a very broken system. I believe our difficulties have been a result of insurance companies fear of decreasing profits, and increasing risk, responding by offering plans that are restrictive and have high deductibles. It may not be appropriate to share such personal information with you, but frankly, I feel so indebted to our patients, and so blessed by them that I wanted to let you know what is going on. Thank you for your understanding and support as we move forward. Thank you to those who have found a medical home here, and I certainly hope that whether or not you are able to stay with us, that you and your family continue with your journey in good health. Sincerely, Daniel B. Kalb, MD, MPH, FAAFP
