I've heard good things about the [Downtown Barber Shop](http://www.dtbarbershop.com/) (reviews on [Yelp](http://www.yelp.com/biz/downtown-barber-shop-gainesville)). I'm bald and haven't been to a barber in many years.:)

Colin Ratliff has been in that little shopping center on University Avenue in front of the Post Office for decades so he must know what he is doing. Does anyone know for sure?

Ive been living in this town for 7 years and teh single only babrber shop I will go to is Bobs 1205 Northwest 23 rd Avenue Gainesville, FL 32609 (352) 378-8698 It's a one or two man family owned operation. They consistently give me the best hair cuts of my life.

Randy's...Haircuts For Men 1 (352) 377-2000 4401 NW 25 Pl, Gainesville, FL 32606 http://goo.gl/maps/SB4 nR Randy gives a great cut and they have a guy that gives straight razor shaves as well!

Prior to moving to Gainesville, I had my hair cut at the same place for almost 15 years. The 1 or 2 times that I didn't were awful experiences, so I was weary about going to somewhere new. A couple months ago, out of desperation, I went to Randy's on 43 rd street, behind Zaxby's and was pleasantly surprised. They were quick, did an excellent job, and the price was great. I would highly recommend them to anyone else.

Kutters on Waldo Rd north of Walmart is good. Small, traditional barner shop. I'm a regular there now. On NW 34 th St there is the Northwest Barber Shop, 2 girls and 3 guys, all great and fair prices. I went to the guy downtown and he was too pricey.

Went to Great Clips for the first time ever on Thursday. The people were nice and the haircut was mostly good, except my sideburns were totally uneven and I had to fix them myself at home. I like Colen's in Midtown, but he's cash-only, which drove me away from continuing to go there. Von at the Reitz Union Barbershop is pretty good and I've gotten a few cuts from him.
Hair cut/salon recommendations? I am in desperate need of a haircut and will head to Hair Cuttery with my bare and thirsty wallet, but first wanted to ask and see if any...

I got a recommendation for my curly hair off Reddit and it turned out really well. She has cut it twice now and colored it to perfection this past weekend. Dear Shears with Nicole. It's her own studio.

The salon professional Academy. The students cut your hair but licensed cosmetologists oversee the entire thing. I've had nothing but good experiences there

I saw [Mindy Johnson](https://www.styleseat.com/mindyjohnson) at [Audrey's Flair for Hair](http://www.audreysflairforhair.com/home.html) and loved her. It's a bit of a drive, but the prices are reasonable and the cut I received was very good. I will return when I need another haircut. Edit: The address/hours on Mindy's StyleSeat site may be incorrect, as she is no longer with the Haile Plantation salon that the map shows.

[Here's a thread](http://www.reddit.com/r/GNV/comments/rlukr/wheres_the_best_place_to_get_a_haircut/) where this had a lot of answers. My answer is still Beach Break salon. Good haircuts, good prices, and free beer.

I usually go to Colen's across University from Library West. Casey does a great job, but I haven't experienced any of the other barbers. Colen's is about $12 for a cut and they take cash only, which turns some people off. I have also wanted to try that place right on the other side of 13 th next to where the bike shop used to be, but I don't know their name. They look like your stereotypical barber shop.
Very random question, but do any of your husbands/fiancés/boyfriends have a place they LOVE getting their hair cut? My fiancé is VERY picky about his hair, and since...

Melanie Garcia he is Pakistani, so he has very thick coarse hair. He prefers to have it shaved on the sides and scissored on the top. The last place he went didn't do it the way he likes, so he's been hesitant to go anywhere else. I think he'd also like to go somewhere that will also trim his beard (even though I'd wish he'd just shave it...but I'll settle for a trim lol)
Anyone have a recommendation of a place in town that will do infant haircuts? It's time to cut our almost 1 yr old's hair and we're not quite sure where to go. Thanks!
