We've been trying various restaurants in Gananoque since last October and I have yet to find one that has a good steak menu. I am looking for an establishment that...

if your willing to cook it yourself I highly recommend Brian Quinn in Yarker, he's an abattoir with his own prize winning cows, pigs and he even has deer in season. He will cut your steak anyway you like and has a team of butchers working every day to cut what ever portion you want in any size or shape you want it. He sells to Wendy's as well but I like to cut out the middle guy and go right to him.

As this is a Shop Local site I recommend Salt of the Earth Farm: It has been proven several times that there is not enough custom to sustain a Butcher Shop in Gananoque. Check out the Farm site: http://saltofkingston.com/beef/
Jesse Cote yes, at home is always a great choice! And you're right 20 ounce is fairly poor choice for healthy eating. I guess my influence comes from visiting establishments in the southern states restaurants. I would love to see a menu that catered to local meat producers that had various cut sizes. Buffalo, moose, deer etc. As well as beef, pork too. Im thinking to trigger ideas for local establishments to ponder, if any are reading lol....

Well, Here's an idea that we have been toying with. We are considered early adapters, using aps like UBER and we have 3 apts in Ottawa that we rent on AirBnB which is an awesome technology app that gives guests a far better experience to stay in an apt downtown instead of renting a traditional hotel room. A new an emerging technology app is Feastly and BonAppeTour which will be selling dinning experiences where anyone can host a diner party to complete strangers. You can create your profile then menu for the specific date, choose your appetizer, soup, salad, main, desert, you can do wine pairings, anything you like really. Set your price and see if anyone purchases your evening. We've given much thought of doing this in the future, especially when our boathouse is renovated and could handle more guests. We would love to partner with local suppliers and host a taste of TLTI evening.... one day... very much in the future
