Chef is John Mims. He's had several Cajun restaurants in DelCo. He has a reputation for being a little cranky but this location of Carmine's (i think there was another one previously) is pretty cool because it's small (but not too cramped) with an open kitchen so he's often strolling around the tables. Sometimes he even takes orders or serves. I really like this place because, among other things, he has a very interesting menu. Yes parking is a bit of a hassle (on-street in Narberth) but definitely worth it.

I used to like High Street Cafe in West Chester. If you find somewhere closer, please let me know!:)

Thanks... Nora Lee's Ive never tried. High Street Cafe is very good, but not exactly a Cajun place, although they have Cajun offerings. A but over priced. Cajun Kates has amazing fried mac and cheese and alligator susages. Looks like not too many choices. I will try Nora Less's though.

I haven't been to Nora Lee's in a while. We were just talking about going there, but it's been getting poor reviews on yelp recently. Also scope out French Quarter Bistro in Royersford and Carmine's in Narberth. I liked French Quarter. Never personally been to Carmines because the parking is terrible, but it's supposed to be good food.

Cajun Kates!

Cajun Kates is the best but, as you say, not sit down (unless you're lucky enough to get a stool). I really like both High Street Cafe and Carmines; probably in that order.
