Our recommendations will depend on what your goals are with this lawyer. The notary Veronique Laliberté was excellent in our transaction. http://www.veroniquelalibertenotaire.com/

Pretty sure it's a notary you need on the Quebec side. They should be less expensive than a lawyer.

Here is all the information on wills in Quebec. http://www.justice.gouv.qc.ca/english/publications/generale/testamen-a.htm I believe the will in QC is around $300. I just got the quote a few days ago from my notary (I forget the exact amount). You should definitely call a couple notary and pick who you are comfortable with. Unlike a lawyer, phone conversations with a Notary are free. Here is mine, she knows her stuff. http://www.lgnotaires.ca/our-team-mtre-christine-lacombe-notary

You should still expect to pay multiple hundreds of dollars for a simple will. Most notaries charge 100$-200$ per hour and you usually need 2 sessions (1 to answer questions and 1 for a reading of the final document). They should offer you a set price before starting and you can sorta haggle depending if you have anything to offer. Expect to go to the 2 nd or 3 rd level of inheritance (what happens if you and your common law both die within a close time frame)

Sorry, I don't practice in Quebec either. I highly recommend Colette Sabourin. I don't know whether she takes legal aid certificates though. If she doesn't, she should be able to give you names of some other lawyers who may.
