Recommendations on the best (and affordable) pediatric dentist in Georgetown? Thanks!
Andrea P. replied:
It really depends on insurance. We go to Georgetown Pediatric over near the big HEB on Williams. We love them so much there. Even when our insurance switched and they weren't in network anymore, we kept going because my kids are so comfortable there is was worth paying the little extra (only because I had a lot of teeth issues as a kid and we didn't go to a pediatric dentist and it was hard. Bad dental experiences can keep you away as an adult and affect how you care for you mouth. And I didn't want my kids to have the same experience) I go to Carus dental (near old HEB) now for myself and I really like them and they do work on children. I'd give them a shot for kids.
Teresa L. replied:
Dr. Kelly is a mom of two adorable children so she has that motherly touch. I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff! I can honestly say we've not had one patient or parent complaint. I'm so sorry your little one had a bad experience at GTown Pediatrics. That can make things worse for the child-traumatizing them and making them an uncooperative patient in the future. I have friends in their adult stages of life that still freak out about the dentist just for cleanings! Lol.

When we had no insurance, we used a dental discount plan. We went through Carington. Google dental discount plans. May be able to help but like insurance, they have a select group they work with. I think we paid $17/month and considering how much we used it, it was a good deal. Star Smiles might be best bet without insurance. Most dental places will give you a discount if paying cash.

Georgetown Pediatric by HEB on Williams is too overwhelming. Have had some not so good ratings from some of our patients with the fees, pushing braces on them and not getting to go back during procedures.

Georgetown Pediatric is horrible, actually. They claimed my son needed a ton of work (They claimed he needed 8 crowns plus fillings on 2 front teeth that were due to fall out soon anyways) that it turned out that he actually didnt. That happened to a friend of mine too, which is why I went elsewhere instead of handing over my credit card.

I have dental insurance but are there any pediatric dentists that do payment plans? Even with insurance the bill is extremely high.
Lis R. replied:
Have you tried applying for care credit? They pay off your dental bill and you just make monthly payments to them after that. My son's dentist was very helpful and referred me to them. I take him to Kids First on University Blvd in RR.
