Avian vet? I'm hoping someone else here has pet birds and can help out. Have you found an Avian vet in the area? It looks like there's a Dr. Wagner in North Boros Animal...

First of all, Dr. Wagner is amazing. He's very affordable for what he does. I had a rabbit's eye flushed out and another rabbit physically examined and x-rayed for less than $100. That aside, I go to Dr. Siegert in Bethel Park for my regular rabbit stuff and they are often considered exotic. I don't recall ever seeing any birds but she should be honest enough to tell you if she doesn't do birds. I know a lot of people in the local animal advocacy groups so I will ask around for birds.

Do not go to north boros. He may be affordable but he's not quality. After moving to the area my dog had a seizure and that was the closest place. He flat out refused to believe me and said I didn't know what I was talking about. 5 years later she's had a handful more but is mostly controlled with meds.
On top of that, he urged me to get her shots while there so I agreed. He did the injections wrong according to two other vets I spoke to. He did it the old style way that is know to cause infection. How do I know? 3 days late she had a huge bump where the injection was and had to have antibiotics to fix it.
Plus, the office smells like piss. I knew walking in that was a bad sign but when your dog just had a seizure youre hesitant to leave.

We used Dr. Wagner (assuming it's the same guy) when he was at Fox Chapel VCA and he was ok. A little judgey about the fact that we weren't feeding our parrot a pellet diet, but otherwise, informed & good bedside manner. Only saw him for routine check-ups. I "believe" that they will see birds at the West Liberty Animal Hospital, though I have no personal experience.

I have conures and have gone to VCA northview on Siebert road (North Hills). This may be a little far if you're using Uber, but just wanted to give another recommendation for a potential place. I've gotten regular bird check-ups here. I also had a very scary emergency which they handled extremely well here. Dr. Pleban saw my birds and provided them with excellent treatment.

I currently drive an hour north to the Slippery Rock Vet. They've done surgery on my pets and have always been very helpful and accurate.

You can try some of the PetSmarts. I believe the one in North Hills has an exotics vet. I know the one in East Liberty has a vet that sees birds on some days. I would give them a call at least.

I have a caique and I go to Dr. Dorn in Dormont. He's at West Liberty Animal Hospital, and their hours are very reasonable, although they're closed on Saturdays and Sundays. They take credit/debit cards, cash, and checks too. I've never had any reason to schedule any appointments other than grooming and check-ups, so I'm not sure how he is with "emergency" situations or anything like that. But he does a good job without breaking the bank. [Here](http://www.westlibertyanimalhospital.com/) is their website. Good luck!

I've used All Pet Animal Hospital for years, along with my parents and their plethora of animals. They're pricey, but Dr. Bennett is fantastic. As is Diane, their receptionist. They always remember me:) http://www.allpet.org A good friend also recommends Good Shepherd, in Mars, off 228. I've never been there, but trust my friend 150% http://www.gsveterinaryhospital.com
