https://www.facebook.com/gsveterinaryhospital/ Good Shepard goes above and beyond and provides information on your options available for your pet. Not just a clinic for shots... A true veterinary hospital. Take a look at their Facebook page or website.
Cranberry Vet Hospital. New in Graham Park (the old Snap Fitness site). They can do X-rays and blood work on site. Open 7 days

We left Good Shephard and are currently going to Windrose. Please feel free to pm me with any questions why. So glad we switched to Windrose Animal Hospital. Staff is so nice, not pushy to buy things or add unnecessary tests and most importantly great with my dog!

Jennifer K. replied:
Seven Fields Veterinary Hospital. We only have a hamster, but they took amazing care of him at a reasonable cost. Some vets charge extra for same day appointments...for example, Good Shepherd wanted to charge me $105 just to see our hamster (I believe $55 of that cost was because it was an "emergency appointment"). Seven Fields charged $49.00 for the office visit fee, so less than half. Animal General could not fit him in their schedule that day, which is another thing to consider when having a sick pet...who can actually see them asap. The doctor held our hamster for a while, gave him some fluids, and sent him home with antibiotics. Everyone was so kind and caring in the office and went above and beyond. I will always go to them in the future.

We have used Good Shepherd, and then switched to Seven Fields for the convenience of the evenings and weekends. We plan to change back to Good Shepherd. We recently needed specialty services and used https://www.facebook.com/130866093599670Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center for Internal Medicine. Absolutely LOVED Dr. Smith. She explained everything, was very upfront, and gave us a treatment plan that we thought was reasonable and also in the best interest of our dog. I know they are for specially medicine, but I would go to see her forever if I could, and I am relieved that she will be the one following our dog for the next 12 months.
Jamie M. replied:
I use Seven Fields Vet for standard care - heart worm meds, annual check-up and vaccinations. However, anything beyond that I drive to Ohio State Vet Hospital in Columbus and it's worth every second of the 3 hr drive. A few years ago OSU saved my then 2 year old Boxer. Had we listened to any of the three local vets I visited first she would not be here.
Seven Fields Vet is wonderful. All of the doctors and the staff are so wonderful and caring. We had a senior terrier who developed diabetes and went blind and the entire staff was fantastic. When we had to put out 13 1/2 year old Black Lab down they were also wonderful. I would definitely recommend them.
Rachel G. replied:
We just moved to the area last year and started to take ours to the Bakerstown Vet Hospital (rt8) that might be too far for you ... but we have had positive experiences there so far! They have expertise in dentistry (we have small dogs so that is important for their rotting little teeth!) During a teeth cleaning I received a couple phone calls to keep me informed and let me know how my Izzy was doing! They also keep us organized/up to date with not only their routine exams but also flea/tick medication. In fact I received a phone call one day to let me know that we are due for the meds and that they switched to a better (and more cost effective) medication (explaining everything about the new one and their reasons for switching) which I was pleasantly surprised because we never received that level of communication at our last vet! Our cat had cancer and sadly we had to put her to sleep. They were so caring and kind and even made sure to give us a paw print ornament (which I know a lot of places do that now, but it meant a lot) I have heard good things about the Seven Fields and Good Shepherd as well.

I love Good Shepherd Animal Hospital. Not pushy, very knowledgeable, and they have after hours emergency services. Definitely do your homework. Everyone on here obviously loves their vet, that is why they go there. I would go with one that has emergency services after hours, or else you will get sent to the emergency hospital off of Camp Horne exit if an emergency arises, and you will be paying a ton of money and they do not have your records and don't know your animals.

https://www.facebook.com/gsveterinaryhospital/ I absolutely love Good Shepherd on 228. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a doctor that takes the time and makes sure you understand everything. Never felt pressured, or judged, and given options when available. Also an important part for me is that they have emergency hours during and after business hours. Many other vets will direct you to the nearest emergency vet hospital if you call after hours, whereas Dr I will meet you at Good Shepherd.

If the treatment from your regular vet is not solving or helping your cat think about taking your cat to Pittsburgh Veterinary Speciality Care center. Good Shepherd Veterinary Hospital is amazing. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. A big plus for me, that not a lot of other vets do, is that Good Shepherd has emergency hours for their clients, during and after regular business hours. Most other vets will reroute you to PVSEC and not only will you pay double or triple the amount there, but they also won't know your pet and have your records like your vet. Welcome to the area, and best of luck finding the right vet for you. https://www.facebook.com/gsveterinaryhospital/

Seven Fields Veterinary Hospital helped me with a "situation" a few weeks ago. It was over the phone and they could have had me bring in my dog. He called me twice last Sunday to check on her after we brought her home. She had to go back on Friday and he called me to let me know how she was doing that night. gave us his personal number if she had any problems. You never feel rushed with him. I'm not sure about costs, I've never been anywhere else to compare, but I've heard they are comparable. I think it depends on what you have done. Testing can add up but routine visits are pretty standard I think.
