Welcome to Gillingham! There are 2 drs in the town - Peacemarsh Surgery and the Barn. Dentists - Winning Smiles (very good, next to Peacemarsh drs), and ADT at the other end of town which takes NHS patients. Vets - Shreen vets really good. Also Southill vets at the other end of the town by Orchard Park Garden Centre. Carpenters - Ian Wright (on FB). Builders - Camelot, Shean and Hare (shaftesbury), Burfitt and Garrett (Shaftesbury), Andrew Smith (Gillingham). Hope that helps a bit!

Try Neil Varney in Mere he runs a small shoot and also teaches gun dogs and breeds Springers and Labs

Welcome to Gillingham. For any issues, questions or guidance on anything from rubbish collection to Schools, from road repairs to licences just ask the amazing team at Gillingham Direct in the Town Hall. They know nearly everything and if they don't know they will find out for you. They are one of the jewels in Gillingham's crown!
Kirsty W. replied:
We use Shreen Vets and can highly recommend.
Sophy S. replied:
Parking at the Barn surgery is hideous, so Peacemarsh is better choice. As above Camelot builders

Hi Samara, welcome to Gillingham! Blackmore Vale Vets in Sturminster Newton are very good. I can put you in touch with people re: Gundog training, and also local shoots. I am also part of North Doset Ringcraft if you were interested, though it's just training for the show ring. Quite a few of our members also work their dogs, so would be a good way to get to meet local doggie people! We train at Cucklington Village Hall every Thursday from 7pm, and are a friendly bunch! And just incase you need a hairdresser, I own Utopia Hairdressing in Broad Robin, Gillingham!!

Also worth considering a house sitter - we do this every year and it doesn’t cost a penny! We come home to a clean house and happy pets and of course it means your house doesn’t sit empty while you’re away. It’s free because the sitters use your home as a holiday. I am always very choosy over picking sitters and do my own security checks on top of the ones the company does. https://m.housesittersuk.co.uk

Branscombe Kennels and Cattery is lovely. Kitties separated a fair distance away from the pooches. Nice big runs. Lots of attention. Our kitten needed 6 meds a day, and they were happy to give. Restricted opening times tho, so animals have peace and quiet throughout the day. We'd use them again x
