We had a similar problem. the crack can be in a different spot than where the leak was coming in. It took a bunch of tries before they finally found it. I have to check with my Dad to find out who did ours but it think it was Herman Stahl and they may have retired

Hi Lara, we just got our roof done last week with Major Homes. We were very pleased and we found them through Angie's List. They stripped the roof surface down to the wood underlayer (it included 6 inches of decades of layers of black tar, etc), kept the original wood w/c was still good (thank goodness), added 2 inches of insulation, changed 2 skylights, and added a new layer of tar and strips. All done in a day. p.s. My roof is flat and I live in College Point and these guys I believe are in Bayside. They were great and I would recommend them.
