Thomas Higgins. Couple of £ for the letter before action or what ever it's called. Then when they don't pay take it to court. Simples. And if they ignore it they then get hit with ccj which will go on their file.

Agreed Damian, it does appear a grey area but is a scenario I have had to deal with before and from discussions with HMRC they did confirm it falls outside the scope to apply vat. Maybe not the answer you wanted but I hope it helps
