I'm sure there are some talented miniature painters at PBG, does anyone have any advice for a noob painter like myself?
I recently got The Island Of Blood Warhammer...

Be careful which brands of paints you water down: no need for 'The Army Painter war paints' they are pre-diluted but aren't that good in my opinion. I do ike the Citadel ones even if they are GW and use them diluted and undiluted. I'm no expert at all - my best advice is to choose models that do not need much painting for your first ones and work up to more intriacte ones. Look up how to dry brush as it is a superb technique. Practice on waste sprues. My last attempt at painting.

2) Make a wet palette. This has two advantages. Firstly any paint you mix up will be good to use the following day and the paint will stay hydrated whilst you're using it. I used to mix up my paints on an old plate and it would soon start to dry up, and you'd end up painting with gloopy paint which isn't good. Here's a good link on how to make one. Very easy to do: http://imgur.com/a/aln9 w

3) Look after your brushes. It's much easier to paint with a well defined brush tip than it is with a brush that has bristles pointing in all directions. It also cuts down on your brush replacement budget! I found this video very helpful: https://www.facebook.com/l.php...
