Generally inter city buses on Pacific side of Nicaragua run in and out of one of several Managua Terminals, some Terminals are in Markets, none are safe to 'hang around' in. Sometimes you will need to take a taxi between terminals, as Managua is very spread out, always negociate fare before getting in Taxi and be clear as to which Terminal in which Market you are heading to. http://thebusschedule.com/EN/ni/index.php#.VM7X-UhARf0

T his information may be out of date - stated here the Trans Nica Bus (First Class) goes to Esteli from Managua to $19 one way, regular bus is 4 hours one way $4.00 http://www.rome2 rio.com/s/Managua/Estelí

There is no "pain" all you need do is go to the Tica Bus Terminal and find out, otherwise make plans to take a bus from Managua, if you are a group you can hire a MicroBus to take you to Esteli from Granada, avoiding Managua and split the cost of renta l and fuel, I was a professional in travel from 1985-2002 in CA 4 or Central America Four. When I had a client did all the logistics for them now you have to learn just show up and ask, bring a native speaker if you have a native friend.

There is a small Nicaragua Ex Pat Group made up of mostly long term Ex Pats who have or can find any information on Nicaragua and do not complicate things like on the large "Granada" and "SJDS" FB Ex Pat Groups, when not giving out information we have fun and tell jokes, stories, a lot about just living and loving in the Tropics. I was a guide in Central America for years and made the best of it with some of the gringos and gringas who came in the rainy season and complained all day it was raining, etc. Nicaragua & More I moderate the largest spam free pan Central American group on FB so if any of you have Nicaragua stories and bloqs, travel info and more do join, no threads, just hard facts. Discover the Undiscovered Central America Bilingual English/Espanol open group, try it, leave it if you don't like it, but we need your shares and information!
