Does anyone know a good and inexpensive paralegal or lawyer who deals with property. My Parents have passed away. Thank you
Jean E. replied:
I have Debra Sorensen she's been very kind and compassionate I'm not sure she's the lowest rate though. And her husband is a CPA
Janet W. replied:
Chuck Jones Lance is no longer the paralegal at A-1. His former wife, Lara, is. I believe that was part of their agreement.
Debbie W. replied:
Ben Friedberg handled my moms case he was great.
Janet W. replied:
Annette Still Another tip: If it turns out your parents' property/estate has to be probated, then the attorney is paid according to a "formula" based on the size of the estate.

Dependending on the value of the property, you may be able to file a small estate affidavit. I would go to Oregon Legal Services, 424 NW 6 th St. (541)476-1058 and talk to them first to at least get information re how to proceed.

I work for a bankruptcy attorney. 541-476-5353 John is very friendly and extremely good at what he does. He's been doing this for nearly 30 years.
Tiffany W. replied:
It is best to just pay the $ and get it done right because If you accidentally leave things out good luck fighting it. I had to file over four years ago due to my husband losing his job and I thank god that I used an attorney because the items were sti ll showing up on my credit report as being owed. The attorney has taken care of that issue for me as well and they also offer free credit reconstruction. It really is worth it. That was a little over four years ago and already have my credit back on track with two auto loans and credit cards. Remember the saying, you get what you pay for. The signs around town that say $250, is just to retain an attorney to start the filing. After you retain them you have up to a year or something like that to pay the rest of the money before they will file it with the courts. Olsen Daines does a free consultaion via skype, in their office to answer any questions that you have ahead of time. Good Luck

I'm not sure if it was you, or someone else, but I've previously mentioned that on cases like this Southern Oregon is not always equipped. I recommend starting in Roseburg, then Eugene, then Salem, then Portland looking for attorneys. Make a list of every attorney you can find and start calling. Make notes next to each name so you have all of that information at a glance. Ask if they'd be willing to do a free consultation. Some attorneys will, some attorneys will not. I've never used this site, but it might be worth looking at: http://litigationattorneys.legalmatch.com/OR/Eugene/tort-lawyers.html
