I’m sure you could find someone at that price point, it just may not include as much. Also in chicago and we paid 5100 for two photographers for like 11 hours, all the digital rights to our photos, an engagement session, and a 12 by 12 leather bound wedding album. Forgo the album—that was almost 1500 on its own! Maybe skip a second shooter and cut back on the time a bit. Do not give up the digital photo rights!!!!! You need those!

https://lorenzodegregoriophotography.com/ Lorenzo DiGregorio was awesome. I only have preview photos so far, but they're amazing. I can send you my spreadsheet if you want. You'll see that $2K is doable but difficult if you want more than maybe 4 hours of photography.

We ultimately ended up selecting a different photographer, but I “interviewed” both Dhani Liane and Inspired Eye. Both were very nice and have good portfolios and are around the $2 k mark.

Not sure about Chicago, but in big cities on the East Coast (DC, NY, Boston), "standard" photography *starts* around $2,500. Have you checked out Thumbtack? I've talked to some decent vendors through it and found their prices are usually a bit lower.

It's a company vs. a single photographer, but we used [Jolie Images](http://jolieimages.com). They have a range of different packages and have deals all the time. Our package was $1395, but during a deal was $995. We got 10 hours of photography, the copyrights to our photos, a disc release of all photos, and they also have options for a backdrop or additional stop. Even their most expensive package is around $1600 when it's on a deal. Since they work with multiple photographers, we went in to give them an idea of what we were looking for, and they gave us a list of their photographers that they thought would be a good match as well as a link to check out their portfolios. The one we picked was fantastic and amazing. We're still waiting on our photos (wedding was March 9th), but I have no doubt they'll be amazing from what he showed us on his camera the day of. The nice thing about having a lot of photographers is that they offer a "peace of mind" guarantee. If your chosen photographer, for whatever reason, can't make it to your wedding, they will send another photographer and won't leave you high and dry the day of. I was incredibly happy with our photographer and we went with Jolie Images on the recommendation from my friend who used them this past summer at her own wedding. We're both really happy with their service.
