Taqueria Habanero- near Columbia Heights. Incredible food from Puebla.

La Fondita at Decatur and 49 th Ave in Edmonston. Mangos Grill on Rt. 1 on the east side just south of Cherry Lane. Both Mexican and Salvadoran, pretty sure.

Gringada Mexican Restaurant on route 1. Authentic, affordable, and delicious.

I love Sierra Grill in Beltsville. My parents frequent Azteca in College Park. On the Border in Bowie us good too

El Sombrerito in Beltsville was #1 on Yelp. Very good. There is a place in the Laurel shopping center where LA Fitness is... down in the corner, which is excellent.

I was going to say the same thing as Laurie Chvatal Hertz. Sierra Grill has amazing food. Also, if you want to travel up to Fulton there is LapaLapa Too. They have seriously great food and drinks.

Fare well. It is really good, I have taken friends there and haven't had a bad meal once. The chocolate cookie dough pancakes are great, the pierogies are delicious, and the chilaquiles are so good. You could also do busboys and poets. There is a great vegan nachos and pizza.

DC has become super vegetarian friendly in last few years. Go for a walk on the Georgetown Waterfront and grab a falafel at Falafel Inc.. Or head to Chinatown and walk over to Farmer and Distillers. Also recommend checking out vegetarian instagram accounts like@veggiedc

In case you're also looking for a lunch option, Pow Pow is fantastic and also vegan. It was better when it also had meat options, but it's still great now even though it is vegan.

Hip City Veg for lunch. Love the buffalo chick'n sandwich

[Sticky Fingers Bakery](http://www.stickyfingersbakery.com/) is right off the Columbia Heights metro station. The baked goods are obviously delicious, but they also have a wonderful selection of vegan entrees that are all quite delicious and affordable! Have gone there to study on occasion as well.

My wife is a vegetarian and we haven't found any great all veg places but there are a number of places with fantastic vegetarian options. If your budget can handle it then I'd suggest Rasika.
the5nowman replied:
Looks like most have been recommended, but Farmers and Distillers also has a decent selection of some. You could do Menomale pizza for dinner + wine, and then a drink at Primrose afterwards.
tilebottle replied:
Not a fully vegetarian menu, but lots of vegetarian dishes at Rooster & Owl if you can secure a table. The food is outstanding and many of the best things we had were meatless.

Not in DC, but close, is Woodlands. It’s a vegetarian Indian restaurant in Langley Park. Excellent food. Maybe not the best ambience than some of the other options mentioned though. It’s in a strip mall at the intersection of New Hampshire Blvd and University Blvd.

Prob not the right atmosphere for a birthday dinner, but Chaia is my jam.

Equinox on Connecticut Avenue has a really good vegan brunch if you're looking for something on the nicer side. It's every Sunday from 10:30-2. They also have great vegan options alongside ones with meat if you're looking for a whole family meal as well.

Can anyone recommend a great Italian restaurant- kid friendly plz .... Thanks!
Laurie H. replied:
We like Mama Lucia in College Park or Pasta Plus in Laurel
Bill C. replied:
The best Italian restaurant in the DC area is Pasta Plus in Laurel, hands down. But Eric's right in that Three Brothers is very kid-friendly.
Hannah G. replied:
Italian Inn on Rt. 450 near BW Parkway
Bob R. replied:
I would not say Pasta Plus is a restaurant for children. Adults dine there for fine Italian cuisine but not for dealing with children and parents looking for both a kiddie menu or a place where a quiet dinner (by others) at a moderate to high price can be interrupted by distracting children.
