I don't know if this okay to post here.
But its an emergency. I found a kitten outside a few outside a few days ago, and today she is shaking so bad that she cant stand...
Julie W. replied:
Sounds like you need an emergency vet clinic; I haven't used one in a long time, but I know they're around. I think Beltsville Veterinary Hospital fits that bill and that I've heard good things about them; here's their number: 301 937-3020. Good luck!
Marion H. replied:
Kathryn, try Rude Ranch Rescue/Spay Spa and Neuter Nook in Davidsonville.

Technically, in Prince George's it is illegal to let your cat wander outside without supervision. Yes, some indoor-only cats do try to escape. The new Kitty Convict Project seeks to "brand" indoor-only cats with orange collars so if they DO escape by accident, people realize that they're supposed to be indoors (http://laughingsquid.com/kitty-convict-project-a-call-to-make-bright-orange-the-universal-color-of-indoor-cats/).

The Banfield vet inside of PetSmart is open on Sundays if you can't find any other place open today. Also, check out carecredit.com. Some vets accept payment from them and then you make the payments through care credit.
Looking for a mobile vet - one that will come to my home to treat my dog. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Diane S. replied:
I don't know a mobile vet. I do know Greta McVay, a mobile pet acupuncturist. Lives in Prince George's Co. Www.marylandpetacupuncture.com or 301-996-1785. Greta is a very nice person (to people & pets). She might know abt mobile vets. Good luck!
One of our sweet little inside cats needs a vet. Or a dentist. Or a vet who is a dentist. Does anyone have a positive recommendation of a trust-worthy vet nearby?
Missy D. replied:
Dr McMichael at College Park Animal Hospital. I believe they are having a dental services special. He is very compassionate, I've been going to him with my cats for 30 years. 301 441-2547. Hope your cat is OK.
Renata A. replied:
We see Dr. Morris at Rocky Gorge. A seasoned vet with sound clinical judgement. Does not just dispense standard treatments.
Dana C. replied:
If you need something other than general dentistry - Center for Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery in Rockville (not nearby, I know!). But they were fantastic - told me exactly what my cat needed and literally sat down with me to go over everything. Even got photos of the procedure itself. I also got to keep the tooth they had to remove! It wasn't cheap but it was more than worth it.
Susan S. replied:
Also Beltsville Veterinarians. I've been going to them for years. They are about 15-20 minutes from Greenbelt.
Marion H. replied:
Been with Beltsville Veterinary for many years. Love Dr. Fink.
Which veterinarian in the Tronadora~Tilaran area are people recommending at present?. I sent a text to Dr.Mario asking about heart worm testing and he said he'd get...
Dawn T. replied:
Text Dr. Mario again. He is very busy and some times forgets. He's the best.
Elisabeth S. replied:
Dr Nicolas at Super Vet in Tilaran He is there T/W/th cell 8924 4570 Speaks good English

A good vet for cats? Hi - I think I saw someone recommend Beltsville Animal Hospital - anybody have experience, good or bad? Any other recommendations or warnings?...
Jen R. replied:
We've been happy with Beltsville - I like Dr. Spencer, we've used Dr. Prowell as well and been pretty happy. There is one vet there I didn't like, but I can't remember his name. I think he's mainly there on weekends. The staff are helpful, and they have good hours I've found.
Shannon R. replied:
I have 6 cats and have been to several in the area. Beltsville by far is my favorite. I would recommend Dr. Spencer, the others are only "average". Dr. Spencer, went above and beyond to help my kitty who suffered from a rare autoimmune disorder. The prices can't be beat either....
Little C. replied:
Our hearts belong to Dr Ziemer at Lynn Animal Hosp. he's been our vet for over 18 yrs!
Kathy S. replied:
I used to go to PAWS in Lanham (on Good Luck road), used to be New Carollton Vet. Vets there are great. I now use Banfield in Petco.
Kathy S. replied:
*sorry Pet Smart
Kevin S. replied:
College Park Animal Hospital is good. They handle all kinds of furries
Matt E. replied:
We also use College Park Animal Hospital. My wife started using them 17 or 18 years ago. Looking for a second opinion once we tried APAW, but also found the waits long and didn't feel the care was any better.
Melissa R. replied:
I've heard Beltsville is amazing, but we've been driving the long distance to Brookeville Animal Hospital due to a long-time relationship with them. They're fantastic btw. I had a bad experience with A-PAWS when they were formerly New Carrolton...so if it's the same vets, I wouldn't go there.
Rich P. replied:
We like Dr. McMichael. Others are sometimes yes; sometimes no.
Sheila M. replied:
For emergencies, my husband Dr.Dave Tuthill at Beltway Emergency Veterinary Hospital is caring and experienced and he keeps his prices affordable
Liz L. replied:
Dr. Spencer is the one who diagnosed my dogs cancer! He is very nice!
Patti S. replied:
I highly recommend Beltsville also! I've been going there for 20+ years. I highly recommend Dr. Prowell and if she's not available Dr. Spencer.
Julie W. replied:
I've been using College Park Animal Hospital for 20 years; no experience with the Beltville hospital, but CPAH has been consistently fabulous--great vets and staff and reasonable waiting room periods.
