I think Lapp's Family Market in Latrobe sells fresh meat--their products come from a couple of different PA farms. Worth asking. They are pretty active on their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/latrobelappfamilymarket/?fref=ts
Who's the alderman/woman for South shore? Whats the status of a grocery store on 71st/jeffery? Does anyone know?? Does anyone care?
Wendy L. replied:
Leslie Hairston is the alderwoman. There is a few stores on Stony Island, Sav a Lot, 72 nd Stony, and Jewel on 75 th. But prayerfully there will be another one. That area got hit hard with losing Dominicks and Moo n Oink, so hopefully will come soon.
Delisher B. replied:
Yes.they did get hit Really HARD! Those other stores are a mile+ away from the old Dominicks. Its shameful. This would be a good time for the TALKERS...to start showing some action..in the city that WORKS..@keeping cultures separate but not =! www.liasophia.com/Delisher

Are there any gluten free stores around besides the main grocery stores ? There used to be one in Murrysville but they closed.
Jennifer E. replied:
There's a gluten free bakery in downtown Mt Pleasant also.
Jackie A. replied:
Herbalicious on main St in Mt Pleasant. They're on Facebook. great store for all your cooking needs (lots of pastas) and homemade bread, cookies, cakes. And The Gluten Free Oven (bakery with awesome pieroges, raviolis, pepperoni rolls ) down past the diamond across from the BBQ. But Aldis and Giant Eagle and even Walmart have so many selections now of pastas, baked goods and frozen foods that I usually only shop at the smaller stores for home made products. Betty Crocker mixes are relatively expensive too.
