If you have children, Comcast has a great program to put internet in every household with kids. https://internetessentials.com it's only 10 dollars a month.

I've never had an issue with Comcast. Customer service is stellar. Internet speed is stellar. Customer retention is stellar. The price could be lower, but that applies to everything in life.

Right now Comcast is the only option in downtown Greensburg. Citizens Fiber is trying to expand into Greensburg. To learn more about it, visit http://www.citizensfiber.com/zones/timeline. If you commit to signing up when they're available in your area, they'll lock in your internet price for life - never any price increases. I highly recommend everyone in Greensburg check it out. They're the only Gigabit internet provider in W.Pa.

When you find something please let me know. I have been looking for a while with no luck. I had Comcast before and Verizon is not available in my area - Comcast owns the rights in my area (White Oak/McKeesport). I just got rid of Hughes Net - had a 2 yr contract and the service was absolutely horrible. Customer Service was worse. It took me an hour on the phone to cancel my service. Whatever you do - do not get Hughes Net.

Well, looks like our options are Verizon or Comcast. I used the internet providers by zip. And we don't have a modem so our options are buy one or pay a monthly fee. Anyone recommend good brand of modem? And we will be switching to Verizon. We have had Comcast for over 8 years. Before that we had Direct TV. So over it.....

I went through this last year. The mobile jet packs limit your data usage to where it would be very expensive to use daily, especially if you are planning on streaming videos. Depending on what area you live in, you may be able to get Verizon FIOS. That will give you the same speed as Comcast. Otherwise you are going to be limiting yourself to whatever the max speed is over phone lines, I believe it is 7Mbps now. Check into Earthlink for an option for that. If you are going to cut out cable TV and want to use boxes such as ROKU, Chromestick, etc. you will have to have a valid ID and password to a television provider in order to be able to watch channels that aren't over the air broadcast. Some will charge per episode and after looking into the costs it was coming close to Comcast's fees for us. The other issue is your internet speed, at 7Mbps you will experience buffering when watching streaming videos especially if there is more than one person online. I had Verizon DSL and it worked well for what we needed. I worked from home and used a VoIP phone through our company VPN along with remote access software to connect to servers and PCs, email, SAP and my wife could also use her PC without lag. That is till she started to watch a video on facebook or youtube.
Very unhappy with Comcast internet service is anyone aware of an alternative internet provider in the area. Called Verizon and they do not offer Internet in the...
