Does anyone know of an appliance repairman? Our stove isn't heating up and we have people coming over for dinner tonight :(
Terri C. replied:
James we had the samething a few years ago. It turned out to be a breaker that tripped half way. We called Bill's Hilltop Appliance Service and Bill was the one that told us to check that. He had fixed something at our house before this happened. I'm not sure if he is still in business since it's been a few years ago. How that helps. If you're not sure of the breaker, just flip all of them one at a time. Bill saved us a lot of money by just telling us to give this a try. Good luck.
Do you remember Western Publishing, J I Case, Massey, Hamilton Beach, Rialto, Venetian and the water front? We had so many beautiful businesses in Racine!!...
Mike D. replied:
How many remember Walker Manufacturing Co?
Mike D. replied:
And at one time jacks and filters. Jacks were the first product made, actually. The Walker Tire Saver was made to keep tires off the ground over the winter on old cars. Ford was a customer for jacks, and Henry himself asked Mr. Walker if he would like to build mufflers for the Model T. The rest is history.

If the yes is that your mom is still alive tell her I send my love and thank her for being an out standing teacher. Jeannie was my sister Mary Anne age and Lori was Bobby's age. Tell Lori (that was my moms name) I always wanted to be named Lorrie after my mom. Than I met your sister and she was so kind . I named my daughter Loretta so I could call her Lorrie. So see we do influence others even if we never find out. Is your neighbor Laurie, Margret and the late Chuck Seitz daughter? If she is we are 1 st cousins our dads were brothers. Very small world.
Mary W. replied:
Colleen Braun, actually on my homepage I have Mary Chris in parentheses! At college, my nickname was Mary Christmas, shortened to Christmas and finally everyone called me "Mas"! But after college, everyone just called me Mary, tho when I go back to Racine it,s MC. Tho my mom was very clever since my bday is 12/25, I have never been crazy about the "double'name, tho back at SCHs, there was a million of the Mary whatever's!

I know I'm coming late to this party, but I remember walking past Massey Furgessons, Modine's, and Twin Disc on my way to Holy Trinity School. Heading up to the "Dime Store" on Taylor Avenue and grocery shopping at "Piggles" across the street. Yes, and drinking from bubblers, which ran all day long throughout the summer.
