good family GP who is great with kids?
----
Hi CM's,
Firstly, thank you for this incredible resource, it is truly invaluable!
We have just moved to Gungahlin and I need...
Sharee H. replied:
Prema Rajendra at Gungahlin General Practice is lovely with my boys, as is Linda Shean (same practice)...they bulk bill kids. We have seen Michael Rosier for both our boys & he is great. Jo Edwards is another who is good (though I've had less to do with her, but the times I have spoken with her, she's been very good).
Symone F. replied:
Dr Prad Southi at Palmerston Medical Center - my daughter was terrified of doctors and he cured her smile emoticon
Sally S. replied:
Kristen O'Neil at Your GP at Crace. She is amazing, my kids hate going to the doctors but she can get my son to do almost anything and she is very thorough.

My daughters GP is Joe Oguns at West Belconnen Health Coop, he is great with kids. He is at the Charnwood practice so not much of a drive from Gungahlin. Can also highly recommend Michael Rossier for a paediatrician.
Kylie K. replied:
Linda Shean is very good, thorough and patient. Gungahlin General Practice, near Aldi/Priceline
Nikki D. replied:
Dr Michael Gan Palmerston medical centre for GP and Tim McDonald for paediatrician although he is fairly hard to get in with smile emoticon
Lisa H. replied:
Dr Linda Shean at Gungahlin General Practice is fantastic with kids, very thorough and understanding too. Dr Nahal Payman is our paediatrician and she is wonderful but hard to get into I believe. Good luck
Jannette C. replied:
Michael Rossier for paediatrician. Trying to find good GP myself after the one we had moved on.
Elouise A. replied:
We see dr Michael Rosier as pead and he is the best!
Melissa H. replied:
DR Tharini Thayaparan at Gungahlin Medical centre is amazing with kids and my husband and I have always been impressed with how she deals with us, too.
Nicola G. replied:
I have been going to gungahlin medical centre for years. 62550888(know it off by heart lol). I see any old dr sometimes, if it's just a kids cold etc, and I have never had a dr I didn't like, but when I want a more personal dr I like dr pahn. He is lov ely with kids and mums. He is so sensitive to what hard work parenting is, he's always asking me 'and how are you going Nicola...you must be exhausted working with 3 little ones' etc etc. it's nice that he actually cares. Also they bulk bill for kids under 16
Anna P. replied:
I am also on the search and just rang the Gungahlin Family Healthcare - 6133 2300. They bulk bill (kids under 16) and Dr Paul Gooding is trained in paediatrics! I'll be checking it out too smile emoticon
Carly H. replied:
Pediatrician Suzanna Powell. She is great smile emoticon
Obstetrician who can help with HG?
------
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and nauseous 24/7 and vomiting constantly. I'm struggling to eat and drink and I'm finding it impossible...
Kat B. replied:
I had HG both my pregnancies and last time saw GP Dr Nicole Nelson at Isabella Plains who was amazing and helped me a lot. I heard that there is a GP at the Belconnen co-op who is also very good with HG. The HG Facebook support group in Australia might be a good resource for you. If you are really dehydrated you should go to ED for more urgent help. I really feel for you - HG is awful! PM me if you like.
Lynette K. replied:
Dr Ken Tan in Deakin is amazing. Couldn't ask for a better OB for pre and post natal care. If you decide to go to him, make sure you book ahead as he is usually fully booked.
Rel B. replied:
Dr Lui Mawson medical centre does shared care w Canberra hospital. She is a great GP.
Sharnce B. replied:

Kate B. replied:
I had hg. I went to the blue sky clinic for Accupuncture in addition to drugs!! They are great there if you can get there!! Dr Dillon at Kingston family surgery was my gp as well as Dr Nicole nelson at Isabella plains. Both excellent with Hg. Sounds like people are making lots of good suggestions. It is so tough. I went on to have three kids. Take things hour at a time!
Cassandra M. replied:
I'm so sorry your going through this. I've just been though it myself I'm 15 weeks now & am still sick but 100% better then I was at 8 weeks. The OBGYN at Canberra hospital Emily (unsure of last name) is fantastic she saved me. But apart for constant fluids at the hospital there's apparently not much anyone can do. I felt so alone & it was tough on my mental stability. It's still very hard. I take Vitamin b6, zofran 8hly, maxolon 8hrly (each 4hrs apart) and ranitidine twice a day. This helps me keep food down! Nothing really helps with the nausea. There's a fabulous group you should join - hyperemesis gravidarum support Australia! I wish I could recommend a good DR mine was not great with this but everyone at TCH was & has been amazing.

Dr Prema or Dr Watson at Gungahlin gen practice - dr Tim McDonald if you're looking for a paedtrician/respiratory specialist down the track. My girls have been diagnosed with asthma and have been given mgt plans by our paed. Recommend getting a puffer/spacer and child mask. Hope that helps! All the best with your little one.

Tristar at Gungahlin does bulk bill. I see Dr Saadia who is lovely. If I am not able to meet with her, I go down to Tristar at Bruce and see Dr Hassanin. They share the medical records at Tristar so it's really easy and I do not have to repeat myself:)

Sharee H. replied:
Not necessarily bulk-billing all the time, but I see Prema Rajendra at Gungahlin General Practice and she has been really great with helping me with Hashimoto's Disease (diagnosed at the end of 2013 by her and managed by her since).

Gungahlin Medical and Surgical Centre is good. Nice doctors and they bulk bill. Waiting times can be long at times, even when you've made an appointment.
Danielle R. replied:
Tristar are bulk billed. I wouldn't recommend the Gungahlin one though. The Belconnen one (Dr Richelda) is great (female).
