Can anyone recommend a veterinarian that takes both a traditional allopathic approach as well as a holistic approach. Looking for someone who specializes in cats and has...

Dr Curtis Wilauer @ Central Maui Clinic, Holistic & Accupuncture trained but sides with $traditional meds moreso, for quick fixes, rather then looking at the problem. I think Lil G is his first patient to go 100% holistic because I insisted on it- be aware tho, he can get caught up in overly prescribing Predinesone, when its not needed especially if the inflammation is caused by food allergies, which in LIL G's case it was, he was blown away by how healthy she became after feeding her home cooked meals. We also go thru a 100% holistic vet in Vermont, I know crazy right? but He has help Lil G a lot, she is on superfoods-Green powder & supplements:) unfortunately she now has full bloom mange da uncontagious kine:( boo hoo btw-Y Vermont? animal psychic refer

Vets (except holistic vets...research on American Holistic Veterinary Association) give steroids, prednisone especially, too treat the owner by way of the inconvenience, than the animal. Check out Dr. Pitcairn's Natural Healing for Dogs and Cats. Greatest vet care book ever written, many recipes and natural cures, tips of all kinds.

love the details Melody:), Chi-Mini Pinscher, 4.8lbs, on homecooked meals now - quinoa, white fish(cod), green beans/asparagus/multi-mins/honeyvite (childrens vitamins as per vet in Vermont), perhaps it was lemon peel brewed in water to make a tincture, I read that somewhere too-using lemons...don't think the juice that was used-would love to knw more...Mabelle I gave Lil G a rub down today with a mixture of olive oil, aloe vera, honey & a teeny bit of raw apple cidar vinegar, just around her head area, nowhere near her face or eyes...To remove mites inbedded in her hair foliclee, then I bathed her after 20mins. Then I patted chamomile tea (tea not the bag) w/a cotton ball over swollen areas & her left eye. She is sleeping peacefully now...and her left eye peeked out for a couple of secs...barely...but at least some visibility of life behind those swollen lids:'( Our local vet visit last wed, did consist of an injection of a steroid - I caved in ... 3rd dimensional thinking...wanted Gaia to feel better...she did for only a short time..I'm done with meds unless it's life threatening...must remember that! Lil G has her moments of happyness...hoping the swelling will go down some tomorrow....good idea to keep outdoors limited Mahalo...any one has has gone thru this too?
Ali K. replied:
yes, Dr Wilauer is a trained acupuncturist but also weights towards conventional meds. Lil G was on Ivermectin with combined meds, Which I believed caused an allergic reaction onset inflammation..her poor face & her left eye is completely closed from infection & swelling... As for oils, Jessica...I think I will wait as they are super potent. Lil G is super sensitive
If anyone could recommend a good upcountry vet good with cats, preferably in the kula/mak/puk area, please post at your earliest convenience or message me privately....
