Sounds like a normal attempt. Had a driveway few years ago needed concrete. 5 contractors contacted. One- too busy. One never returned the call. One gave estimate over the phone without looking. One will be right over. 8 years later must have got lost. And last one gave me a $5000 price which I accepted on the spot. He was going to bring crew and equipment 'tomorrow' and start Monday. $5000 and never showed. Only one of a number of times it happened. Why be in business if you don't want the work. Mike Schade is an exception. He came with a contract, we filled it out, made arrangements for starting time, length of time job was to be done, and payment schedule. He did a beautiful job and relandscaped when done. Good man
