There's this place on Franklin Ave I go to. (Actually just had my GF's heater core replaced on Thursday) A mechanic named Rob has a garage out there and he's always the cheapest when I shop around to get work done. He's honest and fair. He might come off as nonchalant about the work but this guy has the memory of a fox. I can give you his direct cell phone if you private message me. Yes, it is a legitimate garage - It's shares the building with a used car place but I think he just leases the garage and they have the office.

I like Steve's in Glastonbury. It's a bit far for you, but if those other places don't work out, it's worth a try. They were really honest and upfront about the pricing and even did a few things for no charge.

Williams Service Center, 56 Tunxis Avenue, Bloomfield.... husband and wife owned... It was Dale's Dad's originally. Totally honest. My car has 191000 miles thanks to their service. Never brought it to Toyota, just Williams. I just needed to get a place closer to home, rather than work because no loaner anymore.

Modern Tire of West Hartford are the best. Brian & Andy are honest and don't sell you things you don't need and, in fact, have contradicted inaccurate info. that the dealership gave me and saved me a lot of $ over the years (I had a VW Passat that they serviced for years).
