HVAC companies Any recommendations for an HVAC company that offers a reasonably priced “tune up” service and doesn’t push replacing a system that doesn’t need to...

I recommend Garrison and Garrison. I’ve owned 2 properties and went through some of the lesser known HVAC companies and ended up wasting money. They’ve been solid

Conditioned Air. They’ve done a lot of work for us and friends. We have the yearly maintenance package with them. I trust them.

I've been enjoying [Lee Company](https://www.leecompany.com/)'s work. They maintained my 1970 s-fabulous air conditioner till it died, then installed its successor, and have been johnny-on-the-spot for keeping it in good condition. (They also have electricians and plumbers... ~waggles hand~If you've got people who do that work to your satisfaction, keep them. Lee's electricians have been swell ime, but their plumbers are kindof a crapshoot.)

I second Lee company. (They have tons of reviews on angies list, yes its free) They used to have coupons on angies list, website, and in those coupon books that come in the mail for a $25-$45 tune up. (not sure what they offer currently). But they came out and did a complete inspection on my system, checked coolant, even spent an hour to diagnose another issue they found at no extra charge. Even though my HVAC is near 20 years old, it got a clean bill of health and the guy didnt try to push any kind of repair or replace. Seemed like a pretty honest company. Id probably call them first if I had issues again. Before I called Lee, I dealt with Joe East and the experience was exact opposite. Not recommended.

Turn off the breaker, pour some dawn around the vents and hose off the coils. It's just dirt and pollen.

We always go with Casey Beyer of [Beyer HVAC](https://www.yelp.com/biz/beyer-hvac-hazel-green) . He does good work, charges a fair price, and...*returns phone calls*.

Highly recommend A1 http://www.a1 bestvalue.com/ Another company wanted to just replace my entire system, but these guys were able to just replace parts of it, which was half the price of the other estimate I was given. Very good price and was finished in just a day. This was done 2 months ago.

What brand HVAC? Find a company that sells that brand and use them for service. Our house had an old Carrier unit so I used to use Conditioned Air for maintenance. They always treated me fairly. I ended up purchasing a new system from them also.

I use [Steve Tangeman of A1](http://www.a1 bestvalue.com). It is a one man company and this dude is great. I had him do an emergency unit replacement (handler and 1 ton unit change) in the middle of july one year. He told me what needed to be done, gave me options, and got it done in a single day while I was at work. Highly recommended. Very nice guy with a killer work ethic and actually cares about his work.

Alex Khaimenov. Crazy Russian bastard that a realtor friend recommended to me. Her company contracts this guy on everything, and he's fucking amazing. It's just him running his own company, and he's made my list. 256.348.6440 Oh yeah, and he is stupid cheap. Last time I had him out, he fixed a blown fuse in my blower and installed a new thermostat. $20 parts and labor (I already had the thermostat).

Kelly Beyer of Beyer HVAC (256-828-87800). One man company that returns phone calls, shows up on time, and does solid work. Had him do both repairs and replacement.

Conditioned Air. 152 reviews on Angie's list. 4.x out of 5 ranking. They replaced our unit recently and were fantastic. Competitively priced and found issues with some electrical and duct work done incorrectly by the previous owner. Repaired it all. Cleaned up impeccably. Responsive. Professional and competent from their office staff to their technicians.

Thanks everyone for your input. I wound up calling Southern Home and Hearth - they were the first, and only folks, to answer their phone... I left messages on others and still haven't heard back...
