reccomendations for felixstowe please have phoned a couple of places up that claim they are gluten friendly but i was'nt that keen on replies x
Catherine S. replied:
I eat GF in Felixstowe all the time. You always have to check and it's the usual 'chips done in the same fryer' but lots of the other food on the menus is fine, as long as you say you are coeliac and ask for gluten free. I haven't ever been glutened by eating at; The Alex (dedicated GF Menu), Bencottos (Staff n chefs very clued up) or Felixtowe Ferry Boat Inn (both GF and DF Menu with some crossover) and can happily recommend them all:)
Jean R. replied:
I have had very good feedback about The Regal from other Coeliacs in the area. I tend to go the Brook Inn at Washbrook A12 as they have been accredited with GF standard and also do very good desserts.

The Oaks Tearoom Felixstowe is amazing but you would need to book the regal fish and chips are also great the ferry boat Inn has a gf menu also great and the Alex upstairs and down have a gluten lite menu but they do state chips Are cooked in same frier as wedges but I eat there all the time and am extremely sensitive and have had no problems at all, the fish and chips are lovely its up to you! let us know how you get on.

The Alex on the seafront are pretty good, http://www.alexcafebar.co.uk/. Also the Regal for fish and chips, scampi etc http://theregalrestaurant.com/gallery/. Oaks Tea Room is the best for cake.
Next question lol it's my BIG birthday on Sunday and we've had to plump for a takeaway, due to wheelchair and disabled toilet access. Do both the Indian restaurants...

Spice Club does lovely take away smile emoticon
Maggie F. replied:
Spice Club is the better one they have a better range of food and closer to real Indian food - the guys who work there are all from Caldmore inWalsall (I used to live just up the road) and know real curry - I've been to the Bengal a couple of times - it reminded me of one in Birmingham I used to go to about 30+ years ago
