This is unfortunately pretty typical. I rounded out mine doing the same and had to use a chisel to make a slight indentation in the plug and then further used the chisel to knock it counter-clockwise. Once it moved it was smooth sailing getting it out and replacing with a new one. https://imgur.com/a/2VUnU

AJ, if you fell you where treated unjust and unfairly, do what I had done with different businesses and you get back at them and it gives them a black mark on them and their business it will take a little of your time of writing the report and making sure you are sending it to the right location of where the business is, and that is the BBB and make sure you try to give them as much detail of whats going on and how you fell they are a bunch of crooks. And if you have AAA move the car off there lot somewhere else a mechanic you trust AND they would at lest call you and give a heads up on the problem, by the way I never ever if I do not have to bring our vehicles to the car dealer for repairs THEY CHARGE TO MUCH.
