My question isn't strictly Mytholmroyd related but I am close in Hebden Bridge. Regretably I am disabled and a wheelchair user. Can anyone recommend a reliable...

Just to tidy up the cables for my computers, I have quite a few, and possibly build some furniture for me. I'll deal with getting them running. The Housing Association are complaining about 'all the wires' and threatening me with getting the Fire Brigade in to check the electricals. I'm disabled, diabetic and in poor health generally and a wheel chair user. Playing with my computers keeps me amused and I would hate to lose them.

Hello. I have heard of a grant/ payment due to power loss. How do you go about doing this? My electric is from NPOWER.
Also, how do you calculate the number of days if...
Bjorni E. replied:
I don't know about who's responsible for the power loss because your electrics were flooded, but you can apply online to Northern Powergrid for a Goodwill payment (whoever your electricity supplier is). There's an online form here: https://www.northernpowergrid.com/goodwillpayments

I live round the corner - on Calderside and if you're on the same bit as me then our electric was only out for a few hours on the 26 th not the 12+ which would entitle you to compensation from the energy provider https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/energy/energy-supply/problems-with-your-energy-supply/get-compensation-if-you-have-a-power-cut/ However might e worth calling npower anyway to see if they can help you as their website suggests: https://customerservices.npower.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1040

Matt Annison from MA Plastering and Electrical is local to Hebden Bridge, fully qualified and was recommended to me by a few people that he had supported during the floods. He is able to provide certificates too. Let me know if you need his mobile.

Drew (above) helped during the floods, expecting nothing in return, and has worked for us in the past. Mark Dean likewise (Mark fitted a security alarm for us last year) and Aaron Rothwell is a competent sparky who helped lots of people for free in their hour of need.... I'd recommend all of them. Good luck

We spoke to members of the public yesterday who said they are still in the process of removing debris from their homes/premises & although we have handed out 3 vans full of cleaning supplies/materials over the last 2 days many are saying they are not in a position to use them as yet. We still have a PayPal donation address going (caldercleaningsupplies@gmail.com) for anyone who wants to donate & we will deliver to anyone in need (free of charge) when they are ready. just message us via the Calder Cleaning Supplies page
