Medivet are not good, they charge small prices for routine things and large prices for everything else! They don't have a very good reputation either! I recommend Nine Lives in Redbourn. http://emilyorkate.vpweb.co.uk
Does anyone know of a vet in the Hemel area that might agree a payment plan? My parents have tried medi vet, vets for pets and nine lives.

PDSA do not cover Hemel Hempstead - depending on what's wrong with the pet you may be able to get referred to Celia Hammond in London or the vets are duty bound to provide emergency care which is either painkillers or PTS. A lot of places will not agree a payment plan unless you are a long term client - to many people cut and run leaving massive bills I'm afraid.
I've been looking after a wild wood pigeon who can't fly since Wednesday. I've had her checked out by the vet and she has no broken bones - just missing feathers and a...
Barton Lodge are great, but pricey. Have heard good things about the one in Pets at Home too. Clarke and Marshall in Berkhamsted are brilliant, but maybe a bit far in an emergency

Jade H. replied:
Our dog is on the Pet Plan with Barton Lodge. We pay just under £12 a month and get his health checks, jabs, flea and worm treatment and a few other bits too x
Liz S. replied:
I wouldnt give flea treatment unless your dog actually had fleas. Cheaper to buy wormers such as Drontal online rather than paying vet for them. If its a young dog the Vets4Pets (Companion Care) £99 offer is good as it gives you free 6 monthly vet checks but boosters are only needed every 3 years not annually.
