first things first check for recalls at : https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls/search.html i don't have your vin number but dodge has more than their share of computer and computer reprogramming problems. seeing that your dodge is only broken part-time whoever takes this on you'll need to be tolerant, it may take a bit for it to fail while their looking.

Michael O'Neal, the reason I ask, is most import motors are interference motors, and if the timing belt snaps, 99% of the time the valves collide with the top of the pistons. In that case either you get crazy crazy lucky and not a lot of damage was done( which is very rare), or you have a bent valve or worse damaged head and piston. I ran into this a lot when I used to build a lot of hondas.
