Hi all, I'm new to the group. I've recently relocated from London. We have holidays booked for 1st-10th September and I'm looking for some to take care of our lovely,...

Hi we have used both http://www.hundezentrum-procanem.de in furth. And http://www.peggy-bell.de/ both seemed nice. The fields at procanem were very muddy and grass non existent but it was winter time so my dog came back particularly muddy. Peggy bell was good although the dog bed came back smelling of cigarette smoke so we bought a knew one. Both were good at giving medication as needed. Free play and no kennels.

we regularly leave our dog in this place when we go for holidays. They have a big outdoor and indoor place and our dog does not seem sad at all, always entering the facility coming back super happy. We just came back from holidays, he stayed there 12 days this time and came back clean, not stinky and definitely not muddy :) I don't remember how it was on winter time we left him for xmass), but I didn't have much doubts either. The only disadvantage is the price I belive, especially when you travel quite often http://www.hundezentrum-procanem.de/
I have a friend with a new puppy thinking ahead about kennels or pet sitters for when they travel home this summer to visit family. They are on the south side of...

Can anybody recommend a doggy hotel/kennel in the area? We are preparing for 2 weeks at Christmas.

We had the same issues - many don't have dogs at Christmas. Anne is fantastic. She lives in a flat but is a dog walker and trainer. The dogs play out in the forest and gets lots of love. https://www.facebook.com/hundeservicenuernberg/

Hello Katie. You can try to find someone on de.holidog.com. we have used this site when our dog were here in germany and there are a lot of people who can take care of the pets, even to take them home when you're in vacation.
Hey all! Could anybody recommend a cat sitter? We live in Weisendorf and would be happy with any solution: having somebody to bring him food at home (providing is...

For longer trips we use a cattery in Nurnberg http://www.katzenpension-nuernberg.de/ It's not super fancy but provides everything a cat needs. If you expect your cat to have it's own/private room then this is not the right place. There is a nice outdoor run (used only during warmer months) and an indoor room, divided into two "cages" (like mesh walls, ceiling to floor as division) with toys, scratching posts, baskets etc. which house up to 4 cats each but there are baskets and hideouts for the cats to go into if they don't fancy company! Most of her customers are regulars, so the cats are already well known to her. She won't take a cat in if she thinks it will be aggressive or doesn't look healthy. Her standard rate is 9.50 euros per day/cat, this includes food/litter, so VERY affordable. I found that pet hotels in Germany charge a lot for even the most basic facilities, sometimes charging food and litter on top! Our cats have been spending their holidays with Frau Zacherl for the past 2 years (shortest stay 4 days, longest 18). We can't complain.:-) She is very accommodating for drop-off/pick-up times and fully booked in summer/holiday season! She speaks ok English if you don't know any German. Thing to remember: your cat has to be neutered, vaccinated (basic + rabies), dewormed and deflead. She will ask you to show her the health booklet/passport with all the info in it.
Hi, my daughter is begging to get a few budgies (birds). Before I give in I'm trying to find out if there are pet sitters in the area. We live in Erlangen-- does anyone...
