You can find all of the places that are officially recognized by the state using the 2 links below. State recognized means they pay a fee to the state, and at a minimum have had background checks on everyone in the house over a certain age. Depending on the license level, they get regular inspections. I will be happy to explain the different levels if anyone is interested. If you click on the business or caregiver's name, it will take you to their pages. Scroll to the bottom to find info about any issues from the inspections. Near the bottom, look for "Three year compliance summary", and under that "Of the standards evaluated 1 (or 3 or whatever number) deficiencies were cited". Click that number. This takes you to a page that lists all problems in a chart form. On the right side of the chart, look for "Narratives". Clicking this brings a pop up with more details about the problem. Some are as minor as a missing paper, some as bad as old food encrusted on chairs. Sometimes employees haven't had background checks, which to me is scarier than old food. Hope this helps you find a safe place for your child. I rarely have openings, or I'd suggest me.:-) I'm mostly a special needs daycare, although I do accept typical kids if I can't find a special needs placement. Let me know if I can answer any questions about finding a good placement. https://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child_Care/ppFacilitySearchResults.asp. Drat, for some reason, this link doesn't want to go where I want it. Just go here, scroll way down to "Find a Service"/Search for childcare. On that page, you will see "Day care search" and under that "Search for a Licensed Child Care Center or a Licensed or Registered Child Care Home" and "Search for Listed family home" The next page has a lot of options for things you want or don't want, but in my experience, you get the best results if you just put in Hill County and leave the rest alone. If you put in a zip code or hours or anything, the results get messed up.
