Katy, Daniel and I needed a new primary doctor a couple of months ago and their pediatrician (who I loved!) recommended the doctor next door to them. When I called to make my first appt., I was expecting to have to wait at least several weeks and then got me in within a week! His name is Chris Ramsaran, MD and he is a primary care/sports medicine dr., located at 4430 Sheridan St., Su. A, Hollywood, FL 33021, 954-962-2303 (on the south side of Sheridan, just east of 46 Ave.) He's really nice and easy to talk to also. We have Blue Cross/Blue Sheild...you would have to ask them if they take your insurance.

I love, love, love (and trust) our dentist, Dr. Snow, and he is right across the street from Sheridan Hills Christian school. I think he takes Humana, but it would be worth it to ask. I had another dentist tell me without a doubt looking at my x-rays that I needed a root canal. Dr. Snow took a look at them and told me that I very likely needed a root canal, but possibly just a crown. He wouldn't know for sure until he got in there. Once he cleaned out the tooth, he told me that it wasn't as bad as it looked on the x-ray and only needed a big filling. That was almost a year ago and I've had absolutely no problem with it since. Who does that? He had original quoted me almost $1,000 for the worst case scenario if it required a root canal, and ended up actually charging me just $100 for the filling. I wouldn't have known the difference if he had told me I needed a root canal. John, Christina, and I have all switched to him.

Rebekah, I see that someone else recommended Dr. Shulruff to you. We have all gone to him for years. Don Cannott originally recommended him to me when I was looking for a new doctor back when I was first teaching at HCS. I found out that a lot of people from the church and school were going to him at that time. We have been going to him ever since. He's very thorough and easy to talk to or question. The only thing is there is often a long wait in the waiting room, so I always bring a book along.
